Sometimes, a simple and reliable truck can be your best friend.
This 1990 GMC Sierra 1500, configured as a single-cab, short-bed
model, and outfitted with its original Medium Blue and Silver
paint, offers up a competent work truck ready to tackle whatever
project you have in mind.
Inside, we find a two-tone Slate Grey and Blue crushed velour
interior featuring an expansive bench seat, big enough for three
people if the need arises. A four-spoke power-assisted steering
wheel, complete with a GMC center cap, sits in front of an analog
five-pod gauge cluster that includes a large 80 mph center-mounted
speedometer, accompanied by a pair of auxiliary gauges on either
side. Digital displays are used for the AM/FM/Cassette player and
HVAC controls, while easy-to-find push buttons recall a time when
it was easy to keep your eyes on the road and still adjust the
temperature. Power steering, power windows, and air conditioning
add enough amenities to allow this truck to feel modern.
Under the hood, we find a variation of GM's classic 350 cubic-inch
V-8 engine. Fed by a throttle body injection system, spent gases
are sent through a single to dual exhaust and ultimately out
through a set of FlowMaster mufflers that give this truck a bit
more rumble than it came with from the factory. When it rolled off
the assembly line, that small block pumped out around 210
horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. That power is routed
through a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission before heading
out to the 3.42-geared rear end.

disc brakes in the front and a power drum combination at the rear.
