Post-war American craftsmanship shines through on the 1950 Packard
Deluxe Eight with its long, elegant body lines. Finished in
Turquoise, the flowing fenders and squared-off profile display
classic proportions from every angle. Chrome brightwork runs along
the sides and adorns the distinctive front grille, adding brilliant
contrast against the paint. The 15" painted steel wheels include
center caps and beauty rings for added visual interest, while the
Coker Classic G78-15 tires complete the exterior look with
period-correct sizing.
Inside, the gray cloth interior offers classic American comfort
with spacious bench seating. The dashboard presents a clean layout
of gauges and controls that puts everything within easy reach of
the driver. A column-mounted shifter controls the 3-speed manual
transmission without crowding the cabin space. Door panels,
headliner, and carpeting maintain the factory appearance throughout
the cabin. An AM radio sits in the dash, adding to the authentic
1950s atmosphere that surrounds occupants.
A 288 cubic inch straight-eight engine sits in the bay, featuring
the Carter 118-68 single 2-barrel carburetor for fuel delivery. The
Borg Warner R11 3-speed manual transmission transfers power to the
rear wheels. The front suspension uses independent control arms
with coil springs, shocks, and a sway bar for handling, while the
rear utilizes a solid axle with leaf springs. A glasspack-style
muffler on the single exhaust adds just the right sound note. Drum
brakes provide stopping capability for this American classic.
