Vehicle Description
Cruisin Classics is pleased to present to you this 1972 Ford
Mustang Convertible. Originally a light blue car, this Pony now
wears a coat of red paint with grey accents that look great in
contrast to the crisp white convertible top. Although the paint
looks very nice on the car, it does have some small imperfections
that put it in good driver-quality condition. Viewed from the
front, this Mustang looks aggressive! The red hood features a large
grey section in the center, which is home to two faux air intakes.
Ahead of the hood is a black honeycomb grille flanked by round
headlights - all framed by chrome trim and a gleaming chrome
bumper. Below the bumper is a grey chin spoiler that adds to the
sporty look. A view of the side reveals a grey hockey-stripe that
begins up front and travels to the rear, as well as a grey lower
body section (roughly 10" high) accented with a pinstripe. Good
looks and style don't stop there, though; there's bright wheel lip
molding and windshield trim, dual body-color sport mirrors,
"Mustang " fender badges, hideaway wipers, chrome door handles, and
a working bright white power convertible top with a clear plastic
window and chrome rear surround. This is all perfectly complemented
by a set of grey 5-spoke American Racing wheels wrapped in white
letter BF Goodrich Radial T/A's. At the rear of the car, you'll
find a grey adjustable decklid spoiler, a black honeycomb panel
flanked by triple taillights, a large chrome gas cap, another
chrome bumper - this one with a black rub-guard and bumperettes,
and dual chrome exhaust tips. No matter what angle you view this
Mustang from, it exudes "American muscle car" style!
Under the long hood is a clean and tidy engine bay that is home to
a 351ci Cleveland V-8. This hearty V-8 is topped off with aluminum
"Ford Racing" valve covers, a Ford intake manifold, a Holley
4-barrel carburetor, and a chrome Holley air cleaner. Exhaust flows
through headers and Pro-Flo mufflers before exiting the rear with a
pleasing rumble. The 351 is mated up to a 3-speed Ford C4 automatic
transmission with a freeway-friendly rear gear. Other highlights
under the hood include power steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes,
factory A/C, chrome radiator brackets, and chrome shock tower
supports.
Swing open the driver's door, and the courtesy lights come on to
illuminate a very nice black and white interior with wood-grain
accents. The OEM-correct door panels are dressed in white vinyl
with wood trim and black carpet at the bottom (and a mirror toggle
for the driver). White knitted vinyl bucket seats in excellent
condition welcome you in for a cruise. Splitting the front buckets
is a black center console with an armrest/storage box, ashtray,
shifter for the automatic transmission, and a working clock. Inside
the storage box is an original owner's manual - a nice extra. In
the rear is a bench seat for two that matches the front seats in
style and quality. The driver is treated to a 2-spoke black
steering wheel with wood-grain accents and a working horn. The
wheel frames an 8K tachometer, a fuel gauge, and a 120mph
speedometer. The odometer reads 5,114 miles, but the true miles are
unknown. Below are controls for the lights, power convertible top,
and working 2-speed wipers. The center of the dash features more
woodgrain trim that frames working gauges for oil, alt, and temp, a
working Philco AM radio (that plays through a dash speaker), and
controls for the cold A/C and hot heat. Ahead of the passenger is a
"Fasten Seat Belt" light and a glovebox. The dash is topped off
with a nice crack-free black dashpad. Floors are covered with newer
black hook & loop carpet that's kept nice with black carpeted Pony
logo floormats. Around back in the trunk are a full spare with a
vinyl cover, a scissor jack, a car cover in a storage bag, a white
boot cover in excellent condition, and a few miscellaneous
parts.
This '72 Mustang convertible really checks all the boxes - great
looks and color combo, working power top, power steering, 4-wheel
disc brakes, a healthy V-8 with 4bbl carb, cold factory A/C, and a
comfortable & stylish interior! If you're into classic American
muscle, this Mustang is just what the doctor ordered! Don't wait -
give our staff a call today - this cool ride will definitely find a
new home quickly!
