Classic Car Addict is proud to present this 1977 Datsun 280Z 2+2
for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. Nissan released the Datsun
280Z model for the North American market in the 1975 model year. In
a further effort to keep the S30 models sporting in the face of
increasingly stringent U.S. emission and safety requirements,
engine size was again increased, this time to 2.8 liters.
The seats are trimmed in black vinyl with matching door panels and
black carpeting. Appointments include an electric rear window
defogger, locking glovebox and a Kenwood stereo. The AC does blow
nice and cold. The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph
speedometer and tachometer with a 6,400-rpm redline. You have
additional readouts for coolant temperature, oil pressure, volts,
and fuel level that are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit
odometer reads 1,368. True mileage is unknown.
From factory the Datsun was finished in Pacific Blue (307) and was
refinished in red sometime in its life. It features front and rear
bumper guards, hood vents, dual side mirrors, rear window louvers,
and bright rocker trim with a single exhaust outlet. The 13" MAG
wheels wear 185/70R13 Ironman iMove PT tires with DOT dates from
2014. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear
drums.
The 2.8-liter L28 inline-six features Bosch L-Jetronic fuel
injection and was factory rated at 149 horsepower and 163 lb.-ft of
torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed
manual transmission. Cold start is instantaneous, and you can drive
off immediately with no finicky shaking or die-outs.
