1967 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS 396 138 VIN, WEST COAST CAR!! TURBO 400
AUTOMATIC, PS, PB This is a very nice West Coast car!! It is a real
SS with a 138 VIN code in a very desirable color Regal Red. All the
body panels are really straight on a clean body. It has a nice
fitment and a very glossy smooth finish. The chrome and trim on the
car is a combination of replaced and good original trim. The front
and rear bumpers have been rechromed. The stainless, mirrors,
emblems and moldings have been replaced. The front grill is
original and in good condition. The glass is in good condition. All
the windows, front and back roll up and down with ease. The rocker
moldings are in good shape. The door jambs are painted and glossy.
The rubber around the vent windows has been replaced. It has newer
weather stripping. It rides on a set of 15x8 Chevy Rally wheels
with newer trim rings and flat center caps. The wheels are wrapped
with a set of 235/60/15 BFG T/A radials. The engine compartment has
a period-correct, completely rebuilt 396 ci/375 hp motor that runs
fantastic! It has a great sounding idle and very nice response.
There are a few performance upgrades; polished aluminum intake
manifold with a Holley dual feed carburetor, factory correct fuel
line, factory correct open element chrome air cleaner, chrome valve
covers and a 4 core radiator with correct fan shroud. Overall the
motor compartment is very presentable. The black interior has
factory bucket seats and a factory center console for a 3-speed
automatic transmission. The seats have been re-upholstered and new
cushions added. The door panels, armrest bases and headliner are in
great shape. It has its factory SS 3 -spoke steering wheel. The
dash area is all new. An aftermarket four pod Stewart Warner chrome
gauges is mounted under the dash. It also features front and rear
GM seatbelts. The undercarriage is all clean metal. There is a dual
exhaust system with Turbo mufflers that runs to the rear of the
car. The bottom of the engine is clean. It features a chrome oil
pan, transmission pan and inspection cover. It has a Turbo 400
automatic 3-speed transmission. The front end and suspension look
good with new upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends and center
link. It has a 12 bolt posi rear end with 3:31 gears. The floor,
inner rockers and braces look great. The E-brake cables are all
hooked up and working. The trunk is rock solid and detailed nicely
with a redline spare tire, jack assembly, trunk mat and a nice coat
of spatter paint. It has new trunk weather stripping. What a car!!
