original color combination of Light Ivory (Code 6804) with black
leatherette interior, equipped from the factory with an electric
sunroof, left outside mirror, pair of seatbelts, Becker radio,
loudspeaker, antenna, and Phoenix tires.
The 'L' designation, for 'Luxe,' was essentially the European
premier '911S' model fitted with an air-pump equipped to the engine
to meet US emissions requirements stateside. This model was the
most expensive Porsche in the American market, with a sticker price
of $600 over the previous year. It became an immediate success and
instantly collectible as a one-year-only production model.
The paintwork is in beautiful condition, complemented by the
brightwork, mostly original glass, and Porsche side stripes. The
upholstery is in excellent condition with a nice patina and
features one-year-only door pockets, a VDM steering wheel, VDO
instrumentation, and an original Becker Europa Radio. The 6" x 15"
Fuch alloy wheels are mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic 185 70
HR15 tires (2021). The undercarriage has been well preserved and is
solid and rust-free.
Powered by its matching 2.0-liter flat-six engine (Type 901/14),
producing 130 hp, paired to a manual 5-speed transmission (Type
902/1) with four-wheel disc brakes and recently serviced at
European Collectibles, including the braking system, a new fuel
tank, a complete engine service, and tune-up. Complete with a spare
wheel, 911L owner's manual, Porsche Production Specification, a
Porsche Kardex - build sheet, and recent service records. An
excellent opportunity to acquire a 911L with a rare electric
sunroof, finished in its original color combination and equipped
with its matching 2.0L flat-six engine.
