Welcome to Street Dreams Texas as we Celebrate our 26th year in the
classic and muscle care business. We're happy to offer this really
neat 1973 Honda ST 90 is a classic mini-bike that was designed for
a blend of on and off-road riding. It was part of Honda's ST
series, known in some regions as the Dax or Trailsport. The Mighty
Dax ST90 (often referred to simply as the ST90) was produced from
1973 to 1975. It features a unique pressed-steel frame, reminiscent
of a Dachshund dog, which is where the Dax name originated. This
T-bone frame housed the fuel tank and other components,
contributing to its distinctive look. It was marketed as a Sport
Trail bike, offering more off-road capability than its sibling, the
CT90. The ST90 was designed with larger 14-inch wheels and tires
than previous models in the series. Features and specifications:
Engine: Air-cooled 89cc (90cc) single-cylinder engine with a single
overhead cam (SOHC) and two valves. Transmission: Three-speed
semi-automatic transmission with a centrifugal clutch. Suspension:
Hydraulic forks in the front and twin shock absorbers in the rear.
Tires: Knobby tires, front and back, optimized for off-road use.
The engine produced 6 horsepower at 8000 rpm. It weighs 85kg dry.
The semi-automatic transmission and light weight make it easy and
fun to ride, particularly for younger or less experienced riders.
Due to its short production run, the ST90 is becoming increasingly
collectible. In essence, the 1973 Honda ST 90 Mighty Dax is a fun
and capable mini-bike that is a great introduction to motorcycling
for many riders. Its unique design, easy-to-ride nature, and
relative rarity contribute to its appeal among collectors today.
