Vehicle Description
1950 Chevrolet 3100 Panel Delivery
NO RESERVE
NO TITLE
The 1950 Chevrolet 3100, part of the "Advance Design" series, is a
well known panel truck from that era. The 3100 was a popular choice
for businesses and individuals needing a reliable and durable
vehicle for hauling. The 3100 panel van was a favorite among
farmers, small business owners, and tradespeople.
Up for auction is a 1950 Chevrolet 3100 Panel delivery showing
95,127 miles, but the true miles are unknown. The truck presents in
good condition inside and out and runs on starting fluid only.
Exterior
Single stage white paint covers this van and its rounded pontoon
fenders, bulbous hood, and billboard like cargo area. Barn doors on
the back contain high windows while four tail lights dot the back
and the bumper along with hardware are all painted black. That goes
for the light rings, grille, and bumper in front while Chevrolet
chrome hubcaps and beauty rings adorn the 15-inch wheels. On the
side, wide running boards are presented along with side mirrors
that extend out from the cowl.
Interior
Black and white also covers the inside beginning on white doors
with black inserts, then to the black vinyl bucket seats, in very
nice condition with pleated white inserts. The cargo area's wooden
floor is painted black as is the wood ceiling piece attached to the
panel rails. The dash is very simple, housing two gauges with
plenty of patina, then black ribbed features stretch from the
middle through the glove box. A rubber mat is cut to fit the
floor.
Drivetrain
Under the hood is a mostly clean and mostly black 216.5ci inline
six cylinder, originally rated at 92 horsepower, and fuel is
dispersed through a 1-barrel carburetor. A 3-speed manual is on
board and sends power to the rear axle and 3.73 gears. Drum brakes
are at each of the four wheels.
Undercarriage
This van would have a single exhaust system and a stock style
muffler while suspension is configured as leaf springs front and
rear.
Drive-Ability
The engine cranks and runs on starting fluid only.
