1985 Dodge D250 Utility Body Pickup
The 1985 Dodge D250 is not just a vehicle; it's a testament to the
enduring legacy of American pickup trucks. Born in an era of
practical design and robust engineering, this truck hails from a
lineage of vehicles known for their reliability and strength.
Crafted by Dodge, a manufacturer with deep roots in the automotive
industry, the D250 was part of the Ram lineup that would become
synonymous with durability and performance. A unique fact about
this particular model year is that it marked the midpoint of the
third generation of Dodge's full size pickups, standing as a bridge
between the classic and modern eras of truck design.

Up for auction is a 1985 Dodge D250 utility body pickup truck
showing 753 miles, but the true miles are unknown. The truck
presents in fair condition and there are no keys for it.
Exterior
All purpose built but with a little sport thrown in with a red
racing stripe over the hood which, like the rest of the truck, is
painted white. There are some dents, dings, and surface rust. The
back includes many equipment cases, a deep and narrow bed, and a
utility rack on top. The heavy duty rear bumper is diamond steel
plated and doubles as a step up and includes a trailer hitch.
Trailer mirrors and the front bumper provide some shiny surfaces
and 16.5-inch steel wheels carry dog dish hubcaps over white
paint.
Interior
Red plastic door panels show some age and the bottom edge of both
doors shows some surface rust. Inside, the blue vinyl bench seat
has good internals, but the outer shell is cracked and dirty. The
instrument cluster is housed in a black plastic panel and has
patina but is mostly intact, including an updated AM/FM/CD radio,
all on a red plastic dashboard. Controls for a spotlight are up on
the ceiling but nothing on the roof. The floor's rubber cover has
seen better days as have the door seals.
Drivetrain
Under the hood is a dusty 318ci V8 with a 2-barrel carburetor and a
Torqueflite 3-speed automatic. Power is routed to the rear axle and
3.54 gears while brakes are power assisted with discs in front and
drums in the back.
Undercarriage
Here we have a single exhaust and stock style muffler while
suspension is configured as coil springs up front and leaf springs
in the rear.
Drive-Ability
This truck does not have keys, but for a contractor with some know
how and ability, this is a great find.
