The 1947 Dodge 1/2 ton pickup truck, specifically the WC series,
was a popular model known for its durability and versatility. It
was a popular choice for both civilian and military use,
particularly during and after World War II.
Up for auction is a 1947 Dodge WC ton pick up truck showing
43,517 miles, but the true miles are unknown. This truck presents
in very good condition and will crank but not start.
Exterior
Vintage configuration put red over black on this pick up with the
black taking in the arching fender, running boards, and headlight
buckets. The front and rear bumpers have been painted black as
well, and the cross trim on the grille shines nicely, complemented
by the edge trim of the grille strakes and side vents. The wood
planks and bed rails are painted black in the bed.
Interior
Clean and simple black vinyl door cards fill the center of the
inner doors and house the controls for the window and door and the
black vinyl bench is in very good condition with black piping and
stitch patterned inserts. Up front, a wonderfully basic instrument
cluster offers just six points of information with rectangle meters
flanking the circular speedometer, housed in a glossy red
dashboard. A Mopar Deluxe heater is mounted under the dash and
black carpet covers the floor with a rubber section under the
driver's feet.
Drivetrain
More simplicity is witnessed under the hood where a clean looking
217.7ci L-head inline six cylinder is rated at 95 horsepower, fed
fuel through a 1-barrel carburetor, and set in motion by a 3-speed
manual sending power to the rear axle and 4.11 gears. Drum brakes
are on all four wheels for this light duty working truck.
Undercarriage
A single exhaust system features a stock style muffler and
suspension is configured with leaf springs front and rear.
Drive-Ability
This good looking truck cranks but we could not get it to
start.
