NO TITLE
The Chevrolet 3600 was a medium duty truck model, part of the
Chevrolet Advance Design and later the Task Force series, that was
a 3/4 ton pickup truck. These trucks were produced from 1947 to
1959, with the 3600 designation indicating a 3/4 ton cargo
capacity. There were different body styles and options within the
3600 series, including standard cab, step side, and different bed
lengths.
Up for auction is a 1951 Chevrolet 3600 pickup truck showing 63,342
miles, but the true miles are unknown. This truck presents in very
good condition, cranks, and will run on 2+2.
Exterior
Red paint over the entire body is contrasted by the polished trim
on the black running board and the black bumpers, front and rear.
The embossed Chevrolet lettering on the tailgate is also painted
black and the bed is lined with honey colored wood stakes. In the
bed itself, both wood and the stainless brackets are painted black,
while 16-inch chrome wheels carry 235/70R16 tires. The robust front
grille retains the red profile and the edge of each bar is trimmed
with stainless. Five windows surround the cab and side mirrors are
found on each side of the cowl.
Interior
A simple gray insert combines with red painted ribbed steel for
clean inner doors while a gray bench seat with black piping runs
the width of the cab in good condition, showing a bit of patina.
The body colored steel dashboard houses a pair of gauges, one the
speedometer and the other a series of four meters in the round. A
rubber floor covering fills the open floor.
Drivetrain
More red can be found under the hood, one the block and valve cover
of the 216.5ci inline six cylinder, rated at 92 horsepower, and
getting fuel through a 1-barrel carburetor. A 3-speed manual on the
tree sends power to the rear axle and 4.11 gears. The truck runs on
a 6 volt system.
Undercarriage
A single exhaust carries a stock style muffler and suspension
consists of leaf springs front and rear.
Drive-Ability
The truck cranks and runs on 2+2.
