this 1978 MG MGB in Carmine Red features a comprehensive
restoration that included engine and gearbox rebuilds. Wire wheels
mounted on 14" rims wear 185/70R14 tires while the convertible body
style includes both a black canvas soft top and matching black
fiberglass hard top. Chrome bumpers frame the classic British
roadster proportions, and the repainted Carmine Red finish
maintains its luster.
Tan vinyl interior features bucket seats with console-mounted
shifter for the manual transmission. Radio delete panel keeps the
dashboard clean while maintaining the original British aesthetic.
Door panels, carpet, and dash components were all renewed during
the comprehensive refurbishment. Interior appointments focus on
driving essentials with the convertible top mechanism and controls
within easy reach of the driver.
The 1800 CC four-cylinder engine received a complete rebuild
alongside the clutch and gearbox during the 2015 restoration. Weber
carburetor feeds the rebuilt powerplant while upgraded headers
connect to a single exhaust system with aftermarket muffler. Power
disc brakes handle stopping duties up front. Coil spring front
suspension with sway bar works with leaf spring rear suspension,
and the steering rack was renewed during the mechanical
restoration.
