Vehicle Description
2007 Pontiac Solstice Convertible
"This car is outright sexy! Everybody loves it. I bought it because
I like it, not for anyone else or to show off. But, I must say I
quickly discovered that everywhere I go, this car not only gets
looks, but thumbs up, hoots and hollers, and great comments from
little kids to senior citizens. I like unique, and there aren't
very many Solstice's around." One of many positive testimonials

For consignment, a 2007 Pontiac Solstice convertible with a title
verified 8,211 actual miles. This is a two owner car that has
always been garaged and driven less than 300 miles in the past
year. Owned by an enthusiast, the car will come to you with
Solstice branded swag items of all kinds!
Exterior
Sports car proportions define this car with its longer nose, short
tail, and ground hugging profile. Coming at you, the fascia looms
wide with fenders that extend past the headlights that hug the
front edge. Pontiac cues include the arrowhead on the nose, the
split grille, and the use of octagons in the grille, a nod to the
earliest pony cars that incorporated the shape into their wheels.
The double humped cowl in back is in place with top up or top down
and resembles the racy fairings used on early race cars, like the
Jaguar D type. They eventually meld into the decklid which tops a
rounded tail flanked by elongated and mostly horizontal tail lights
which help smooth airflow sliding off the rear fenders. 18-inch
chrome wheels with 45 series tires brings this car up to modern
trends and look great, and the black canvas top is in just about
perfect condition. A single ding on the passenger door is the only
exterior imperfection we could find.
Interior
Uncomplicated black plastic door panels include an integrated elbow
rest and both present cleanly. The well designed seats are Ebony
leather with attractive white stitching and while the driver's seat
shows slight compression, the passenger seat looks practically
unused. For the driver, a sporty leather wrapped steering wheel
with a series of thumb controls leads to an efficient and handsome
instrument cluster, three chrome rimmed dials with white faces and
red digits. A smooth dash takes in various buttons, vents, and the
A/C knobs over the integrated AM/FM/CD radio well within reach of
driver and passenger. A grab handle for the passenger is also built
into the center console, just next to the black booted shifter in a
circular chrome faceplate and if you continue the flow, you'll find
a storage bin on the rise between the high backed bucket seats.
Gray carpet is protected by robust rubber weather mats. Trunk space
is limited but there's room for day trip or overnight items and of
course, yourcar show folding chairs!
Drivetrain
Under the hood is a 2.4 liter four cylinder putting out 177
horsepower, mostly obscured by plastic shields but clean as one
would expect with an 8,000 mile car. It's linked to a 5L40E 5-speed
automatic that sends power to the rear axle and 3.90 gears. Four
wheel power disc brakes help this canyon carving sports car to ease
into turns.
Undercarriage
Other than some surface rust on the rear axles, the underside looks
showroom fresh with very little evidence of use. The single exhaust
still works its way through an original equipment muffler before
exiting via a chrome tip out back. Suspension is composed of
independent SLA, (double wishbone), both front and back.
Drive-Ability
The cabin is not only comfortable but also configured in an
uncomplicated layout not overburdened with more bells and whistles
than you can operate at one time. The car delivers a sure footed
ride that handles turns with ease, tracks straight, and visibility
with the contoured rear window is better than expected. With an
automatic, you can steer with two hands or post your left arm on
the top of the door and just cruise in style. As expected, all
functional items on this low mileage roadster operate just as it
should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions
were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee
these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
Maybe when these came out, you fell in love but weren't in a
position to get one. Well, here's one that's practically new,
fresh, and clean and ready to take on mountain roads, oceanside
towns, or Main Street, U.S.A. Virtually anywhere you take it,
prepare for friendly nods, thumbs ups, and knowing smiles. Weekend
toy or daily driver, this is an attractive American sports car.
