Vehicle Description
2012 Cadillac CTS-V Station Wagon
"Today's Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is a monster, and a multiple C/D
10Best Cars winner, but one thing it doesn't offer is a long roof
body style. To get that, you have to travel back to the CTS-V last
sold in 2014. That car blended the presence of a Lockheed F-117
Nighthawk with the supercharged V8 belligerence of a Corvette ZR1.
And it was available as a station wagon. Glorious madness." Car and
Driver, March 2025
For consignment, a 2012 Cadillac CTS-V station wagon with a title
verified 50,672 actual miles. This is a pampered rocket ship and
one of only 575 produced in 2012. From 2011 to 2014, only 1,764
CTS-V wagons were produced, and they remain one of the most desired
modern models in the collector world. Use your best Evelyn Wood's
speed reading skills, then make the call. This is a rare
opportunity and one many of you have been waiting for.
Exterior
It may be a Cadillac, at one time the premier purveyor of luxury
cars in America, but this is a sports wagon through and through,
beginning with the aggressive two level mesh grille, the power
bulge on the hood, the steep rake to the windshield, body cladding,
and twin exhaust tips. Crystal Red Metallic Tintcoat is the color
here and the way in blends with the space age elongated tail lights
which are trimmed in black. Your Country Squire never had wheels
like this, 19-inch polished aluminum beauties wearing low profile
tires and allowing clear views of the Brembo brake calipers. Roof
rails, a large sunroof, and a shark fin antenna keep things
streamlined on the roof and fender vents are intended to keep
things cool in the engine bay. We did not find any exterior
imperfections on the wagon.
Interior
Warm black leather and suede starts on the door and is accented
with dark wood trim plates and all four doors present cleanly. A
sizable base with switchgear carry the Recaro tall bucket seats,
black suede inserts framed by more black leather while the rear
bench shares the materials but lacks bolstering and side support,
but there are grab handles on the ceiling to help in turns. Plenty
of thumb controls adorn the leather wrapped steering wheel along
with some piano black trim, all leading to the silver rimmed triple
gauge cluster ahead relaying all pertinent information and a
colorful array of idiot lights. A stunning center stack, backed by
glossy black, has a screen and integrated buttons for the sound
system and A/C. On board is an AM/FM/CD unit with XM, Navigation,
Bose 5.1 surround, and 40GB hard drive, and the screen also
displays a backup camera. Flanking the A/C panel are individual
controls for the heated and ventilated seats with small screens on
each. Piano black and woodgrain dress the center console where we
find the shifter over low pile charcoal carpet with thick carpeted
mats. Up top, an overhead console controls lights and the sunroof,
all surrounded by a gray, foam backed headliner and like the rest
of the interior, it's in great shape. The same can be said for the
rear cargo area which looks showroom fresh.
Drivetrain
The heart of the beast is heavily shrouded in plastic covers, but
under their spotless coverage is a 6.2 liter supercharged V8
pumping out an astounding 556 horsepower. It's mated to a 6L90
6-speed automatic that routes power to the rear axle with 3.73
gears in a limited slip differential. As mentioned, power disc
brakes are on board and found at each wheel.
Undercarriage
Minimal surface rust and dry conditions prevail on the clean
underside where the dual exhaust travels down a center tunnel,
leaving the sides mostly flat for aerodynamics. Those exhaust pipes
flow through original equipment mufflers before their showy
termination out back. Suspension consists of coil springs up front
and a multi link with coil springs on the independent rear
suspension, and the car is equipped with magnetic ride control and
the ability to switch to sport mode.
Drive-Ability
We take our seat in America's premiere muscle station wagon and
Cadillac still delivers on the luxury end of things, but this is on
par with its European sport counterparts. The V8 comes to life
instantly and emits a very nice exhaust note as we move it into
drive and roll through the test loop. This is where the magic
happens, blistering speed, surefooted acceleration and handling,
and a spinning rear axle that keeps pushing like a freight train.
These are legendary for a reason and a short lap is all one needs
to understand why. As a pampered ride, we note all functional items
on board operate as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents
that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we
cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of
your purchase.
Okay, you made it to the end! Now the real race begins because this
king of the collector world will not last. This example has been
meticulously maintained, adult owned and driven, serviced by
Cadillac techs, and never smoked in. If you really wanted a manual,
know that this automatic has a manual mode and shift paddles on the
wheel. So now you can eat your cake and have it too!
