Here is a turn-key 1969 Chevelle Malibu with a classic muscle car look and loaded with nice features. It has seen a lot of recent work and offers all the favorites; power front disc brakes, power steering, air conditioning, Bluetooth, coilovers, modern instruments, and more. To be sure, this car is not for the purist; it is not a real SS or Yenko, does not have its original engine, etc. Rather, this Chevelle is for someone who simply wants a great looking car they can jump in and enjoy.
Built in late May 1969 at the Baltimore plant, this Chevelle has been repainted in LeMans Blue and also received a new black vinyl top. It was further adorned with SS badges and Yenko striping that really make it stand out. This one also has the perfect stance thanks to a new set of Viking Performance adjustable coilovers front and rear along with other suspension parts from UMI. All the glass is new and free of any scratches or fogging. The chrome 15” Torq Thrust wheels and BF Goodrich tires (235 front, 275 rear) were installed in 2024 and fit the car perfectly.
The engine is a replacement 350ci equipped with an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and 4-barrel carburetor. An electric choke is present but not used, as this car starts and idles remarkably well from cold. There is also an HEI distributor for improved performance and reliability. The transmission is a TH350 automatic followed by a 10-bolt rear end. This is a proven, reliable drivetrain that is set up for cruising rather than drag racing. It also sounds great through the dual exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers. Finally, the power steering and power front disc brakes with cross-drilled rotors make the car easy for anyone to drive.
The interior has been redone in black vinyl and features a roomy front bench seat. The headliner, carpeting, and door panels have also been replaced, while the steering wheel was updated with an SS style piece. Within the dash resides a new instrument cluster with Dakota Digital analog style gauges occupying the factory openings. There is also a Vintage Air Sure-Fit system for integrated heat / defrost / air conditioning. Note all the nice dash vents too. Another update is the modern twin-shaft radio with Bluetooth compatibility.
The Chevelle continues to be one of the most sought-after of muscle cars, and this example makes it easy to understand why. It has a strong presence yet is a car that is easy to live with. In addition to all the features mentioned above, the car does not overheat, runs fine on pump gas, has great vacuum, and proper road manners.
