The C6 convertible presents a very clean shape, more streamlined than its predecessor and with an exotic flair. This example has its original black paint along with a power black convertible top that works great and is neat to watch. The headlights and fog lights are crystal clear, having been recently replaced due to the typical fogging and cracking with this design. As a 2008 model this car was the first year with Chevrolet’s awesome LS3 engine. This very reliable powerplant displaces 6.2L is rated at 430hp. It is mated to the optional 6L80E 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters followed by the limited slip differential with 2.73 gears. In addition, the Z51 package adds performance springs, shocks, and stabilizer bars along with oil, transmission, and steering coolers. It also includes larger cross-drilled brake rotors, all of which have been replaced.
The black leather interior is in very good condition throughout. This one is equipped with the top-of-the-line 3LT package which includes power / heated sport seats along with a head-up display and telescoping steering column. There is also the optional AM/FM/CD sound system with navigation and a touch-screen interface. Of course, all the standard C6 goodies are present as well including dual zone climate control. Aftermarket touches include a carbon fiber look center dash bezel and upgraded floor mats. All manuals are present along with both keyfobs and a silky black car cover.
The C6 Corvette represents a tremendous sports car value. For less than half its original price, you get a reliable sports car you can drive every day, capable of nearly 30 mpg or 12-second timeslips. It requires simple maintenance and is remarkably easy to live with. Throw in the optional 3LT and Z51 packages and you’ve got a great deal on Chevrolet’s finest.
