This 1977 Ford Escort MK2 RS2000 tribute has just completed a full
mechanical reconditioning by Car Cave USA, and is now ready for the
road or track. Featuring a rebuilt performance engine, improved
drivetrain, and upgraded features, this Escort now drives as
aggressively as it looks. It's currently stored in our
climate-controlled Aiken, South Carolina showroom and is sold with

Greece in 1977 as a factory-built 2-door saloon. It now wears a
host of performance upgrades, many of which mirror period-correct
Group 2 rally builds. The 2.0L TL20H Ford Pinto inline-4 was fully
rebuilt in-house with machine work performed by Bo's Machine Shop
in Augusat, GA. Fitted with a new set of Weber 48mm DCOE top-draft
carburetors on a new Burton aluminum intake manifold. Supporting
upgrades include an Edelbrock fuel pressure regulator, billet fuel
filter, -6AN stainless braided lines, Bosch distributor and coil,
Revotec 12' electric fan kit, and a complete stainless exhaust
system paired with an Ashley header. A professionally rebuilt
5-speed Ford Type 9 transmission handles shifting duties and sends
power to a rebuilt English Type rear axle fitted with fresh fluid
and a master rebuild kit.Suspension has been enhanced with Koni
shocks, Superflex polyurethane bushings, a larger rear sway bar,
and lowering blocks. The chassis was reinforced with new rear
chassis legs, custom bracket fabrication, and additional
undercarriage restoration. The Escort rides on 15' Compomotive
ML1573 alloy wheels wrapped in brand-new Hankook RS4 performance
tires?225/45R15 front and 245/40R15 rear.Inside, the new black
high-back sport seats with tilt and height-adjustable mounts were
custom-fitted, while a SaBelt steering wheel and auxiliary gauges
maintain its rally background. A Kenwood KDC-W241 head unit powers
aftermarket speakers. Both primary and secondary gauge clusters are
driver-oriented, with oil pressure, voltage, and temperature gauges
positioned above the glovebox and angled toward the driver.The
Escort was given a complete detail including paint correction, trim
polish, interior reconditioning, and full mechanical shakedown.
Recent work includes fuel system upgrades, new battery, coolant
flush, top-end gasket set, oil pump drive shaft, starter
replacement, brake switch rewiring, and an extensive list of engine
fittings, gaskets, and tuning adjustments.If you're looking for a
