Vehicle Description
It is said that imitation is the highest form of flattery. If you
want a classic Mustang that stands out but is far more affordable
than the original, this 1965 Ford Mustang GT350 Tribute offers a
perfect mix of speed and style while honoring the legendary
Shelby's factory-racer ethos. With just 1,679 miles since it was
built, this first-generation fastback comes fully repainted in a
beautiful, head-turning Calypso Coral, featuring dual full-length
black racing stripes that make it clear this car is equal parts
show and go.
Inside, we find a relatively luxurious interior as compared to the
original GT350's stripped-down, no-frills motif. Comfy and
supportive dual bucket seats are separated by a center
console/armrest that even comes with a pair of cupholders! An
elegant power-assisted, wood-rimmed three-spoke Pilot steering
wheel adds the perfect splash of contrast against the sea of black
vinyl. Just beyond that wheel, we find a six-pod AutoMeter gauge
cluster set against a carbon-fiber-style bezel featuring a 160-mph
speedometer and 10,000 rpm tachometer, each flanked by a pair of
auxiliary gauges on either side. An AM/FM/Aux head unit looks
original, but offers a bit more modern functionality without
ruining the resto-mod vibe. The rear seats can fold down to offer a
wealth of cargo space whenever you need room for luggage for that
long road trip.
Under that scooped hood, we find an engine bay so impressive that
it would make Carroll Shelby smile from ear to ear. A built 302
cubic-inch V-8 engine topped with eight eye-catching individual
intake trumpets mounted to a Speedmaster Downdraft 8-stack intake
manifold that will make any onlooker stop and stare. A Comp Roller
Cam operates Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads, while an MSD ignition
system works with a Fast Dual-Sync distributor and a Fast EZ-2.0
Self-Tuning System. Spent gases are sent out through a set of long
tube headers, through an X-pipe dual exhaust, and ultimately
expelled through a set of sweet-sounding FlowMaster mufflers. That
power is routed through a T5 five-speed manual transmission before
heading out to the 3.89-geared rear end that transfers those ponies
to the pavement via a set of ten-spoke, knock-off-style wheels shod
in Riken Performance tires measuring 235/45ZR-17. At the same time,
a narrower set of power-assisted 225/ZR45-17 Rikens handles
steering duties up front.

This 1965 Ford Mustang GT350 Tribute gets a set of GT350-style
subframe connectors to shore up rigidity, while a quartet of Baer
power disc brakes sit at all four corners, and complete the sprint,
turn, stop trifecta that sets the GT350 above the standard-issue
Pony Car. Although imitation is supposedly the highest form of
flattery, driving this car around, by the number of compliments
you're likely to receive from any number of enthusiasts might rival
that statement. Don't wait, call today!
