Award Winning 57 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop, Original Matching Numbers 283/270 HP Dual Carb, 3-speed column shift. Highly detailed and fully documented frame off restoration to a Day One appearance. Finished in Matador Red and India Ivory (code 819), this color combination has been claimed to be the most desirable two-tone combo. The paint work on the car has been awarded the Dupont Top Gun accolade and the laser straight body panels and finely consistent panel gaps are a match to the outstanding level of workmanship recognized by Dupont. The finish has been sanded and buffed to a true show car finish. All of the chrome and the stainless were brought to exceptional show quality appearance during the restoration. The interior received the same high level of attention and remains in top condition. All gauges function properly and there are no missing trim pieces. Professionally restored by a long time builder of Hot Rods and Classics and this was his personal car. Built with the intention of show judging, no expense was spared and no details were left behind. Multiple awards beyond the aforementioned Dupont Top Gun are documented. The engine remains as the original born with Dual Quad, Solid Lifter 270 HP 283. The engine pad shows the proper EB suffix and the block casting number of 3731548 is correct for the application. The dual carb intake manifold casting 3739653 remains original to the vehicle along with the 1299 carbs (2626 & 2627). Additional engine parts such as the distributer, exhaust manifolds, cylinder heads, water pump, radiator, starter and generator are all documented. The 3-speed manual transmission shifts without issue and the clutch does not have chatter, or wear issues. The AA code rear end sports a 3.55:1 gear ratio. The engine starts without issue, is without knocks or ticks and it has the right amount of solid lifter clatter for perfectly adjusted valves. The engine runs smooth and pulls as expected thanks to properly adjusted carbs. The car is rust free front to rear, top to bottom. With the exception of an underside detailing, the car is show ready and also a true turn key vehicle. The spare tire and jack are properly placed in the trunk. Additional photos and video documentation are available upon request. In-person inspections are welcome and preferred as that is the only way to have a true appreciation of the extremely high quality of workmanship performed during the restoration.
