INTRODUCTION: We just purchased this from Christopher Titus: an
avid car collector, famous comedian and TV star. This is 1 of only
1,101 2 door wagons made in 1964. Now it's a 1 of 1 after
Christopher spent 10 years on a complete body off frame custom
build. Only 365 miles since completion!
EXTERIOR: It's an attention getter, when have you seen another one?
The black paint is smooth and shiny. The faux woodgrain gives it
the west coast "woody" vibe. The body has some subtle custom
changes: it was smoothed out by removing all the side moldings and
emblems, the upper door window frame was rounded at the rear
corner. All of the glass was replaced by Eddie Kotto custom glass.
The windshield is flush mounted and the 2 piece side windows were
replaced with 1 piece for a clean look. It has a custom grill,
chrome strips were added to the roof, SS grilles were added to the
hood, it has dual bowtie mirrors and it has billet door handles.
The tailgate handle was replaced with an LED 3rd brake light. It is
sitting on some staggered size Schott wheels: 18s in front, 20s in
back. The are wearing Pirelli P Zero tires.
INTERIOR: It was completely gutted then Dynamat sound deadener was
installed. It was treated to an updated wiring harness and fuse
panel too. It has very rich looking and comfortable TMI seats along
with matching door panels. The console is custom made and
upholstered to match. It features USB ports, power window switches,
Vintage Air electric controls, cup holders and the best part: a
manual 6-speed billet shifter! Upgraded custom carpet was cut and
installed front to back. Overhead is a custom cloth headliner and
visors. In front of me is a restored dash with optional dash pad,
full set of custom gauges and a Foose wheel on the tilt column. The
retro stereo is part of a great sounding system that includes an
amp, kick panel speakers and 6x9s in back. There are seat belts for
everybody; the front passengers get 3 point reclining belts.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: There's some extensive metal fabrication in
here! The firewall was smoothed, custom shrouds were made over the
engine, inner fenders and radiator. It's a GM performance crate
Ramjet 350 making 345 horsepower. It features a fuel injection
system that resembles the look of the vintage style with modern
technology. It's dressed in some beautiful valve covers and
breathers. It exhales through Heddmen headers. The front of the
engine has a complete March runner system with billet brackets and
pulleys, a serpentine belt, one wire polished alternator, mini
polished a/c compressor and a polished power steering. An aluminum
radiator with dual electric fans keeps it cool. The billet hinges
look sharp and feel smooth.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The power window switch is hidden in the console
for the power window on the tailgate. You put the window down and
reach in to release the tailgate. The rear compartment is
upholstered and carpeted. On one side you have a sub woofer and the
other side has a compartment that holds the battery.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame for a complete restoration
with upgrades. The front end steering and suspension was completely
replaced and upgraded with tubular control arms, fat swaybar and
lowering springs. In back is a four link system with tubular
control arms, lowering springs, a swaybar and air shocks. The fuel
system was all replaced and compatible with fuel injection. The
dual exhaust has stainless steel Magnaflow mufflers and a crossover
pipe. The brake system has a custom e-brake assembly and disc
brakes at all four of the wheels. Looking up at the motor it is
clean and has a high torque starter. There's a custom scatter
shield, a T56 Tremec 6-speed manual trans with a hydraulic clutch.
A custom driveshaft leads back to the 10 bolt rear with cruising
3.23 gears and a chrome cover. The floors are all clean metal
painted satin black, the frame is semi-gloss.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to work it. This is so we can sell you
the best cars within reason.
CONCLUSION: This is a very unique car to start with and now it's
one of a kind. It makes a great cruiser: it's comfortable, has room
for people and cargo, and it's loaded with nice features. That
6-speed will make some fun of it too!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
