Converting the front clip and rear tail panel from an earlier
second-generation model gives this 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Split
Bumper Conversion the aggressive look of its predecessors. Black
paint covers the transformed bodywork while gold decal stripes
provide visual contrast across the surface. Chrome 17" Rev wheels
fill the wheel wells, wrapped in 225/45ZR17 front and 255/40ZR17
rear Nitto tires. The conversion work includes both front and rear
sections, creating the split bumper appearance that made the
earlier Camaros so distinctive.
Black vinyl bucket seats anchor the interior, complemented by
matching door panels and a fresh headliner overhead. The
floor-mounted shifter connects to the four-speed manual
transmission, while an aftermarket Dual brand AM/FM/CD head unit
with remote handles entertainment duties. Black carpet covers the
floor, and the dashboard maintains its original configuration.
Power steering assists with handling, and the interior reflects
recent attention to detail with replaced components maintaining the
factory appearance throughout the cabin.
A 350 V8 engine provides motivation through the Quadrajet
carburetor and aluminum intake manifold. Aftermarket Corvette valve
covers dress up the engine bay, while the HEI distributor handles
ignition duties. The four-speed manual transmission sends power
through a 10-bolt rear axle. Power disc brakes handle stopping
duties up front, with power drum brakes at the rear. An aluminum
radiator manages cooling, and dual exhaust provides the soundtrack.
Air shocks support the rear leaf springs, while coil springs and a
sway bar handle front suspension duties.
