Survivor Classic Car Services Chicago is proud to present this
stunning 1968 Ford Mustang GT/CS Tribute. Per the Marti report,
this Mustang was originally manufactured at the San Jose
manufacturing plant with a "C-code" 289 2v V8 engine paired with a
C4 3-speed automatic transmission, Candyapple Red paint, black
vinyl standard buckets, power disc brakes, power steering, A/C, AM
Radio, and factory tinted glass. The Mustang was put under the
knife for restoration and came out looking just like a GT
California Special, as you see it here today!
Under the hood is still a 289 V8 with a 3-speed automatic trans.
The A/C and heater were removed during the restoration, but many of
the components are still present and could be easily re-added. Out
back the 2.79 rear axle makes highway cruising a breeze without
winding the engine to the mood to keep up with traffic. The inside,
outside, and underside are solid as a rock. It is believed that the
Mustang stayed in the Los Angeles, California area (where the
original dealer was) for most of its life.
The key wakes this pony up without a fuss, ready to hit the road.
The steering feels light and responsive. The brakes bring this
classic coupe to a stop without a fuss. One would be hard-pressed
to take this beauty anywhere and not get attention!
