Vehicle Description
2006 Ford F250 Super Duty 4x4 Crew Cab Short Bed Pickup
By all measures, and despite numerous questionable polls, it's
clear that patriotism and support for the United States military is
up! If you've ever been to NFL football game, you've seen the
reception for the color guards and the raucous response when
fighter jets pass over that stadium just as the National Anthem
ends. At most car shows, at least here on the East Coast, there's
usually one car decked out to make a statement on patriotism and to
honor our armed services and many veterans are involved in the
classic car community.
For consignment, a 2006 Ford F250 Super Duty 4x4 crew cab short bed
truck with a title verified 119,844 actual miles. The truck
includes graphic wraps to make a bold statement of support for U.S.
troops and the country as a whole. Beyond that, it's been
accessorized with a vast number of add ons that results in an
eye-catching monster of a truck!
Exterior
The tall tan wrapped body of the truck is boldly augmented with
messaging on the side, a star on the tailgate, and a color graphic
on the tailgate depicting combat troops on a mission supported by
helicopters. It's back here where we find a heavy duty rear bumper
laden with LED accessory lights in addition to the LED tail lights.
There's one up front too with several light bars attached and meaty
red tow shackles adding some color along with the American flag. A
bug guard over the LED and projection beam headlights sends insects
skyward, avoiding the windshield and perhaps the trailer side
mirrors that extend from the doors. A Fab Fours roof rack houses
more lights and antenna and a retractable tonneau cover hides the
contents of the bed. 22-inch Fuel wheels carry Nitto LT-rated all
terrain tires and the lifted truck leaves plenty of travel space
between those tires and the black fender flares. Finally, a massive
tailpipe fit for a diesel like this extends out back. Some dents on
the hinge side of the driver's door are the only imperfections we
find on this big rig.
Interior
Molded gray plastic door panels with storage and textured kick
panel greet occupants who can take advantage of the automatic side
step that emerges when the doors open. From there, it's about
climbing up and hopping into the gray leather seats, buckets up
front and a flat bench for the crew. nThe driver's seat has some
tears at the entry point but all others are in fine shape. The
center console up front can be folded up to serve as a middle seat.
Up front, the standard steering wheel has thumb controls for
various functions and the aluminum colored gauges look good with
red stencil type font to the digits. There are numerous accessory
screens here. On the left, a Livewire TS+ performance programmer, a
larger center screen for the AM/FM radio with Bluetooth and XM
capability and yet another for the backup camera. A series of
auxiliary toggles are built into the dash and triple 12 volt outlet
has been added underneath it. A monitor at the top of the
windshield is near the rear view mirror which is also tied to a
camera and the floors are covered with rugged weather mats over
gray carpeting. In the bed, a bed slide is found making loading and
unloading ammo, uh, we mean cargo easier.
Drivetrain
Red hoses and some other red components highlight the clean engine
bay housing a 6.0 liter Powerstroke diesel V8. It's fuel injected
and mated to an F5R100 5-speed automatic transmission splitting
power between the 3.73 gears at both axles. Wilwood front power
disc brakes work with the power disc out back to bring this goliath
to a stop.
Undercarriage
A truck horn is the first thing you see in the back, followed by an
aFe Power finned differential cover and there's one on the front
too. Fox shocks accompany track bars with coil springs in front and
TGC radius arms with leaf springs in back. Everything is clean
underneath, including the big exhaust pipe that flows through a
stock style muffler before exiting like the Alaskan pipeline out
back.
Drive-Ability
If you've ever wanted to feel on top of the world, this truck will
do it. We crank up the diesel and roll coal out onto the tarmac
where this thing takes over, visually, audibly, and with sheer
power of personality. There are numerous bells and whistles on the
truck and it's like monitoring Fort Knox from inside a cabin. We
couldn't find anything that didn't work, from the mechanicals to
the electronics and everything in between. While Classic Auto Mall
represents that these functions were working at the time of our
test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at
the time of your purchase.
The apocalypse or anarchy are no match for this American hero. It's
large and in charge and is not shy about telling you. So, if you're
a quiet patriot, but want your voice heard, this is your ride or if
it matches your own personality, it fits too. Under all the
messaging however, is a fantastic and capable F250 Super Duty for
work, play, or running recon.
