1957 Raven Black Ford Thunderbird Convertible
Classic Car Overview
This stunning 1957 Raven Black Ford Thunderbird Convertible began an extensive Restoration in 2013/14 and to date has only been driven1683 miles since, and never in rain. When not being driven the car is kept in a 1300 sq. ft. humidity-controlled garage. The Restoration included removing and rebuilding the automatic transmission and the 312/245 HP Motor increasing the HP to 300 plus. Both were performed by well-respected Professional Transmission & Engine Shops in Sarasota, FL. New engine parts include Pistons & Rings, Connecting Rods, Crankshaft Main Bearings, and Cam Bearings.
The Body Restoration began by transporting the Thunderbird to West Palm Beach, FL and having the paint totally removed by sand blasting down to bare metal. From there it returned to Gulf Coast Auto Body & Painting in Sarasota where new sheet metal was formed to replace both rear quarter panels and other areas (pictures available to show bare metal welded in place before being primed). The chrome bumpers & mounting bolts/nuts and other chrome parts, were prepped and chrome Plated by Spacecoast Plating & Metal Refinishing Inc., Melbourne, FL. The car was meticulously painted Raven Black, which was the original factory ordered color, and is perfect with the red interior.
