Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic cars of San Antonio/Austin is super excited to
present possibly one of the coolest 1971 Chevy Chevelles we've seen
in quite a while. Yes, this IS a 1971 Chevelle, and yes, you ARE
seeing a 1970 front clip & rear bumper! This custom build has been
completely done from top to bottom. Starting with the boxed, media
blasted & painted frame up to an all-new suspension using heavy
duty springs & tubular A-Arms, this bad boy is for "GO" as much as
it is "Show". This is a no nonsense 1971 Chevelle. Power is
supplied by a 2015 6.2L LS3/6L80E 6-speed automatic combo that is
out of a 2015 Chevy SS & was showing only 19k miles on it when it
was swapped and is now right about 30k total miles. These LS3's
were originally estimated at 415hp without any adds, but the
addition of the ceramic coated headers, a custom fabbed 3" X-piped
exhaust and a simple tune have increased that rating very nicely!
The power is running through a 12-bolt Detroit Locker Posi rearend
fitted with some new Yukon axles, bearings, a very highway friendly
3.42 gearing and all that is all setting on a killer looking set of
18" Foose wheels with Nitto rubber, assuring many enjoyable road
trips while not having to stop at every gas pump on the way. The
complete car was Dynomatted before being reassembled and all wiring
was redone using an EZWire system. Inside the Chevelle is a
retro-looking set of analog/digital of Dakota Digital gauges, a
cold blowing Vintage Air system, a retro look AM/FM/Bluetooth, some
nicely finished buckets, a leather-wrapped steering wheel w/ tilt,
cruise control, a center console & even a new headliner that all
show better than new. This is the type of build that a lot of us
dream about...the combination of a classic American muscle car
combined with the performance & reliability of a modern drivetrain.
