$79,000 invested in a body off frame restoration. It is really
dialed in, I would let my daughter drive it anywhere. The previous
owner/builder is one of the nicest people I ever bought a car from.
After I bought it he detailed it, changed the oil and greased the
car.
EXTERIOR: The body was taken down to a bare shell, we have
pictures. It is all metal, no rust. It has a metal cowl induction
hood. It is straight and fits nice. Repainted in its original
Nantucket blue upper and lower without a vinyl top. The paint
formula is available along with extra paint and clear. The metal
flake is applied evenly and it has a very smooth glossy finish. It
looks like just about all of the chrome and trim is replaced. In
front the entire grill, bumper and emblems look new. On the sides
the rocker moldings, wheel well moldings, emblems, door handles,
bowtie mirror all the trim around the windows looks new. In back
the tail lights, tail panel trim and bumper have been replaced. The
door jambs are painted real slick. It has new weather strips,
window seals and sill plates. The windshield is new. 1 key works
all the locks and ignition. What a great stance. The 15 inch chrome
Cragar wheels look new and tires are only 1 year old.
INTERIOR: Beautiful blue interior. New PUI interior kit includes
cushions, upholstery, door panels and carpet. It also has new
armrests, window cranks and handles. Chevy rubber floor mats. Above
is a new headliner, visors and mirror. In front of me is a new dash
pad, all the chrome plastic instrument bezels have been replaced.
It has factory in dash gauges and aftermarket Sport Comp tachometer
on the column. New deluxe wheel. All the metal has been painted
real nicely. The center console is in great shape, it has a working
clock and a Hurst t-handle shifter sticking out of it. The air
conditioning controls are neatly hidden in the console. It has new
blue seat belts front and back. New wiring harness throughout the
car.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Completely rebuilt 427 making 499 hp and 495
lbs of torque on a dyno. 454 high performance block with a 427
crank, Lunati roller cam, 10:1 compression and Edelbrock aluminum
heads. On top is an aluminum intake, Holley 800 cfm carb and an HEI
ignition system. The front of the motor has Serpentine belt and
pulleys, a Powermaster alternator and a modern power steering with
billet reservoir and stainless braided hoses. It has new power
brake booster and master, there is an external vacuum pump to
compensate for the low vacuum because of the performance cam. It
runs cool with an aluminum radiator, dual electric fans, custom
shroud, overflow bottle and aluminum water pump. New heat and air
conditioning system. The wiper motor was replaced, squirters are
hooked up. It has an Optima battery with a disconnect switch.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: All metal, solid trunk compartment that was
neatly spatter painted. The bottom of the trunk lid and jamb are
painted glossy. The weatherstrip and decals were replaced. The
spare is a 5th matching new Cooper tire on a Cragar wheel. There's
a car cover included too.
UNDERSIDE: It has been body off the frame restored, every component
underneath is replaced or rebuilt. The front end was apart and
given all new bushings, springs and upgraded QA-1 shocks. In back
it has a Hotchkis Sport Suspension with upper and lower control
arms, frame braces, sway bar, springs and air shocks. The fuel
system has been replaced including the tank, straps, sending unit,
and fuel lines. The exhaust is new and has stainless MagnaFlow
mufflers and electric dumps. The brake system is all new and has
disc in front. New brake lines, hoses and working e-brake assembly.
Bottom of the motor is clean, has a new high torque starter.
Upgraded with a 5-speed Tremec transmission and we just replaced
the hydraulic clutc and flywheel. The 12 bolt rear end has 3.73
posi gears and was completely rebuilt with new parts. The floors
are clean metal.
This is a turn key car, very dialed in. It is one of the bast cars
I've driven this year. The builder really put a lot of pride into
this restoration. It checks all the boxes too- a/c, 4-speed, etc,
etc.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
