For Sale: 1966 Pontiac LeMans in Palm Harbor, Florida

Vehicle Description

I have a beautiful 1966 Pontiac Lemans convertible in excellent condition. Rare color combination of a striking white exterior over a fabulous red interior. Believed to be an original ultra low 42k mile vehicle, which I have keep garaged at my home in Palm Harbor, Florida. Absolutely no rust or body issues. Smooth and powerful 326 V8 purrs like a kitten. Power options make this car a joy to drive! I purchased this 66 Lemans from an older gentleman in my home town. I used to go to car shows and see he and his wife proudly displaying it, but they were never interested in selling. He had a special garage built to house it. Finally, last year, a friend of mine was telling me about the fall car show, and the pictures he took. I asked him if he saw the white Lemans. He said it wasn't there, and I thought, well, maybe their situation had changed, so I called the gentleman, and he told me how his wife had passed away last summer, and he really didn't feel like going to the shows without her. What's more, his son really didn't have any interest in old cars, so we made a deal and I took possession last fall. It was in great shape, but needed some things if I was going to drive it here in the city. Of course, as many car guys can attest, once you start, it's hard to stop, so here's a list of what I have done. 1. Replaced the manual brakes, with a brand new power braking system, including steel lines, booster and dual master cylinder at a cost of $4000. Expensive? Yes, but necessary for peace of mind. While under the hood, I had all fluids flushed and changed, along with any worn hoses. 2. Tires. Good news... Lots of tread. Bad news... 20 years old, so I replaced all four with brand new Nexen Radial Whitewalls, and while the car was up on the lift, new Monroe Gas Shocks. 3. Rear bumper was gouged, so I had a new one installed. 4. Replaced all exterior emblems and replaced a rear trim piece that was scuffed. 5. Took out the front grilles and restored them, while also replacing chrome trim on both. 6. Replaced trunk lid weather stripping with brand new. (that was a fun job! 60 year old rubber doesn't exactly slide out in one supple piece!) Removed all door panels and lubricated all window cranks and door handles, and realigned all regulators so they point the same way. Resealed backside of all panels, and installed missing plugs under doors. 7. Removed rear seat and installed sound deadening insulation underneath. 8. Removed original non-working radio, and replaced with Retro-sound look-alike system, featuring Bluetooth, and hands free phone connectivity. Added new speakers under dash retaining completely stock look. Original radio will go with the car. 9. Recentered the steering wheel and fixed loose blinker selector. 10. Installed correct chrome switch and bezel for the power convertible top, replacing one that was glued on from a hardware store! 11. Installed new correct floor mats for 1966. 12. Replaced dull painted mirror with new chrome reproduction. (much better!)13. Conducted a forensic (my own term) cleaning of the entire vehicle inside and out. I'm sure there are some things I've missed, but you get the point. As with any car, this one is rolling out of my possession better than it rolled in. I really had no intention of selling it, but alas, my heart belongs to another. A beautiful 1963 Catalina, the same year my dad owned, which I purchased last week. If only they'd make houses smaller and garages bigger, I'd keep both, but in any event, here's your chance to own a stunning 66 Pontiac Lemans Convertible, that is basically turn-key, and one that will put a smile on the face of anyone lucky enough to drive it.

Presale inspections welcome, sold in beautiful as-is condition, preferably to someone in person with cash in hand. Otherwise, buyer is responsible for shipping.
