Land Cruiser 70 Series replaced the iconic 40 Series, known for its
rugged straight-axle build, global adaptability, and off-road
capability. This example features the powerful 1FZ 4.5L 24-valve
inline-6 engine, and is sourced from the dry climate of the Middle
East. The 1FZ engine, also found in the 80 Series Land Cruisers and
Lexus LX450 models, delivers excellent road performance. We prefer
the 1FZ engine over the 3B and 1HZ due to its higher horsepower and
torque, plus ease of service here in the U.S. The Troopys are
considered one of the ultimate expedition vehicles, offering a
simple and rugged design with fewer moving parts. It includes three
gauges, manual locks, and crank windows. This Land Cruiser has
limited luxury or power features, but the AC blows cold. This is a
left-hand drive example was sold new in 1993 as a GCC spec in the
country of Oman. Oman is located in the Middle East with an
extremely dry climate, averaging only four inches of rain annually,
so this Troopy body and undercarriage are straight and rust-free.
Older Toyotas are prone to rust issues on the frame and body,
making rust-free examples difficult to find. The Land Cruiser
underwent extensive maintenance, suspension upgrades, interior
restoration, exterior enhancements, and detailing at Car Cave USA.
Routine maintenance included an oil change, air and fuel filter
replacements, differential fluid change, installation of a new
washer bottle and squirters, a clutch slave cylinder replacement,
clutch fluid flush, and a full tune-up with new spark plugs and
wires. The suspension and steering were significantly upgraded with
a Dobinsons 2' suspension kit, including new leaf springs,
greaseable shackles, polyurethane bushings, a steering damper,
caster wedges, U-bolt kits, and gas shock absorbers. The vehicle
also received an alignment. The Troopy now rolls down the road
incredibly well. Interior restoration included applying an Eastwood
rust encapsulator to the entire rear metal floor before installing
the vinyl flooring. The original vinyl flooring was replaced with a
Troopy-specific kit, and custom floor mats and new interior panels
were installed. Rear seats were not installed, as most of our
Troopy buyers complete a full build of the cargo area, but Car Cave
can supply rear seats as part of the sale price. The upholstery
shop handled the headliner, rubber floor mat installation, and
interior panel work.Exterior enhancements included a new OEM Toyota
front grille, replacement rear taillights, and new side mirrors.
The wheels and tires were upgraded with new tires and 1.5' wheel
spacers. The vehicle also underwent a full exterior wash, hot
pressure cleaning, vacuuming, polishing, and interior plastic
conditioning. The comprehensive work totaled over $17,000.Upgrades
and features include 16' black steel wheels, 255/85R16 Yokohama
Geolander M/T G003 tires, 4.5L 24-valve 1FZ inline-6 engine,
5-speed manual transmission, 2-speed transfer case, Dobinsons
polyurethane bushing kit, Dobinsons 70mm caster correction axle
wedges, Dobinsons greaseable shackles, Dobinsons greaseable leaf
spring pins, Dobinsons twin tube gas shock absorbers, Dobinsons
steering stabilizer, new vinyl floors, new interior panels, new
headliner, chrome bumpers, rear barn doors, front power disc
brakes, front and rear straight axles, air conditioning, power
steering, tilt steering wheel, 60/40 front split bench seat, and
running boards (side steps). The exterior paint is finished in the
original Toyota White (color code 045) with chrome bumpers and
grille. The interior front passenger compartment features beige
refinished vinyl and cloth upholstery. The Troopy maintains its
simple design with only three gauges on the cluster, but it
includes power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning. The 70
Series is known for its front and rear straight axles. This FZJ75
features a power disc brake front straight axle and a rear 9.5'
drum brake axle with a 4.111:1 gear ratio designed for heavy load
capacity. Power steering makes this Land Cruiser easy to turn and
drive. The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 180 km/h speedometer
and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level.Body
