This is a 1967 Ranchero 500 Limited Edition with a High Performance 289 CI. motor. I bought this as a retirement gift about 5 years ago during the Covid pandemic, and have had no regrets.
This vehicle was completely redone just before I bought it and I have put about 1,000 miles per year on it so it has around 5,000 miles on the rebuild. It was originally from Texas so it has never seen road salt or a real winter. I have stored it inside since I got it. It has been stored inside during the winter months and I don't drive it if there is a threat of rain.
There were too many things replaced in the re-build for me to list but here are some of the highlights; Completely rebuild engine with high compression pistons and mild street-strip cam topped with an Edelbrock aluminum manifold and 4-barrel carb, High energy electronic distributor, Ford Racing aluminum valve covers and chrome, oiled cloth type air filter.
The interior has a new seat covering, dash cover oil pressure, temperature and voltage gauges and Grant steering wheel. The original radio and clock do not work but all the other lights and gauges do, including the added halo style headlamps.
New alternator, power steering pump, water pump and a Champion polished aluminum radiator.
The transmission is a rebuilt C-4 with aluminum billet pan and the driveshaft looks to be new as well. The Rear end is also new.
Also replaced were all of the front end suspension parts including a-frames, tie-rods ,torsion arms, hubs, spindles, shocks, brakes.
The sound of this car / truck is very impressive through the long tube headers and performance exhaust and the power is very good.
This car looks and drives great with no issues. I would say the paint job is a very good driver quality and shines up extremely well.
I get comments on how good it looks and sounds every time I drive it and it is 100% reliable with no smoke, overheating or handling issues ever.
