If you're into old-school cool with just the right amount of
attitude, this 1932 Ford Victoria is ready to rumble. Built in
California back in the '80s-when hot rodding was raw, loud, and
unapologetic-this Vicky wears a Gibbon fiberglass body over a
genuine '32 Ford frame, stiffened and braced to handle the torque
of a 350ci small block. An Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and block hugger
headers feed the beast, while aluminum heads help it breathe easy
and scream harder.
Backed by a bulletproof Turbo 400 automatic and a Ford 9-inch rear
with 3.50 gears, it's got the guts to cruise or rip. The parallel
4-link rear suspension with coilovers keeps the stance planted, and
the power front disc brakes make sure it stops as well as it hauls.
It rolls on classic wire wheels, adding just enough nostalgia to
make you forget it's not running bias-plys.
Inside, Stewart Warner gauges fill the dash with vintage flair, and
a tilt column makes slipping behind the wheel less of a gymnastic
event. The manual steering keeps it real-no over-assisted float
here-and the aluminum fuel tank keeps things light out back.
A steel hood and sides keep it legit, but make no mistake: this
isn't some trailer queen. This Victoria was built when hot rods
were still built in garages, not ordered from catalogs. It's got
character, heritage, and more than enough punch to back it up.
Whether you're into carving two-lane blacktops or parking lot
showdowns, this chopped-up classic delivers old-school spirit with
just enough modern hardware to make it dangerous.
