1940 Packard Series 160 Club Sedan is a true standoutelegant,
storied, and masterfully restored. Finished in a rich Laguna Maroon
over a classic tan broadcloth interior, this Packard exudes prewar
luxury and presence. It's not just a beautiful carit's a
meticulously documented piece of automotive history. This example
comes from a large private collection and was formerly owned and
restored by renowned Packard enthusiast George Halings. He
originally purchased the car in 1968 while still in college, then
began a multi-decade body-off restoration in 1980 that would span
over 25 years. Every detail received careful attention: the body
was stripped, primed, and finished in 20 coats of hand-applied
nitrocellulose lacquer, while the frame was sandblasted and
powder-coated. The original 356ci straight-eight engine was
completely rebuilt, ensuring performance to match its visual
appeal. The result of this dedication speaks for itself. The car
earned First Place at the 2007 Packard National Meet in South Bend,
First in Class at the 2009 Ohio Concourse, and First in Class at
the 2011 Arthritis Foundation Show in Columbus. It remained in
Halings' care until 2021, when it was acquired by its current
collector-owner. This Packard is more than restoredit's revered. A
rare opportunity to own a concours-winning Club Sedan with known
provenance and craftsmanship rarely matched.
