Survivor Classic Car Services Chicago is proud to present this
kustom 1956 Ford Customline. This for has had a lot of
period-correct modifications. Some of them are very obvious, and
some are more subtle! Under the hood is a 302 cubic inch Ford V8
engine and C4 3-speed automatic transmission. Power is sent to the
rear wheels through a Ford 8" rear axle with 3.55 gears. Slowing
his beauty down is accomplished with 4-wheel manual drum
brakes.
The body has been heavily worked over to clean up and amplify the
beauty of the factory stampings: The doors and trunk have been
shaved, the front end has been nosed, the whole body has been
decked, and the hood, doors, and trunk lid have had their corners
rounded. After all that, the Ford was professionally painted and
had beautiful hand-laid pinstriping laid down atop the Frosted Rose
paint.
This '56 Ford is a slick example of what a '50s traditional
"Kustom" is all about. Lots of cleaning up the body, loud colors,
chrome side pipes, wide white wall bias ply tires, tuck & roll
interior, and a carbureted V8 under the hood.
