The red paint on this 1968 Dodge Dart GT Convertible sets the tone,
but it's the little things that give it some swagger. A white
convertible top brings contrast, and the polished trim hits all the
right spots without going overboard. The aluminum 14-inch wheels
give the stance just enough muscle, and the 205/70R14 tires keep it
planted. Clean lines and simple badging keep the body looking
honest and tight. No gimmicks here-just a solid look from bumper to
bumper.
White vinyl buckets set up front, matched by clean door panels and
rear bench for a uniform look. The console-mounted shifter breaks
up the floor nicely, and the dash layout stays uncluttered and
functional. A retro-style stereo system adds modern connection
options, including AUX, Bluetooth, and Satellite, all backed by a
small powered sub tucked beneath the driver's seat. Power steering
and air conditioning are both in play, and the carpets, mats, and
headliner all stay within the same clean presentation.
A 318 cubic inch V8 runs the show, topped with an Edelbrock
4-barrel carb mounted to an Edelbrock Performer 318 intake. Power
moves through a 3-speed A727 Torqueflite automatic, and out back
it's hooked to a Currie 9-inch Ford rear. The suspension keeps
things classic with torsion bars up front and leaf springs in the
rear. Long-tube headers feed an aftermarket dual exhaust system
with the kind of note you'd expect from a small-block Mopar. Power
disc brakes up front bring the setup together.
