You're looking at one of Mopar's most underrated bruisers-the 1968
Dodge Dart GTS. This isn't some tribute or base-model clone-it's a
real-deal, factory BB1 Black GTS 383 car, built during the muscle
car wars to punch well above its weight class. Dodge took their
lightweight A-body platform and stuffed it with big-block fury,
giving it the soul of a street brawler in a compact wrapper. In a
sea of Chevelles and Mustangs, the GTS was the underdog that swung
like a heavyweight.
Under the hood, the original 383 V8 has been treated to an
Edelbrock intake and carb combo, still breathing through proper HP
manifolds and a snarling dual exhaust. It's backed by a 4-speed
manual that puts you in full command of every ounce of torque, just
like it was meant to be. Manual steering and brakes keep it raw and
direct-no power fluff here, just muscle and grit.
The factory bucket seats and center console are exactly what you'd
want inside a purpose-built performer, and the cabin stays true to
its roots with a factory tach and original AM radio. Finished in
sinister BB1 Black over a black interior, this Dart is a
triple-black menace with just the right amount of attitude.
Riding on 15-inch American Racing Torque Thrust wheels and front
disc brakes, it's got just enough modern touch to keep things
planted without killing the vibe. The GTS trim was a one-year-only
performance spotlight for the Dart in '68, and with only a limited
number produced with a big-block and 4-speed combo, this car's as
rare as it is rowdy.
If you've been hunting for a clean, honest, and unapologetic street
machine with real pedigree and Mopar muscle, this blacked-out 1968
Dart GTS is the one to beat.
