Vehicle Description
Cruisin Classics is proud to present to you this gorgeous Torch Red
2002 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Coupe! This C5 shows a mere 49,325
miles on the odometer, and it has obviously been well cared for its
whole life. The paint is original to the car and is in high
driver-level condition with minimal imperfections. Up front are
pop-up headlights (C5s were the last generation to have them), a
cross-flags emblem, and air intakes. Looking down the side, you'll
see Z06 fender badges with a 405hp call-out and the signature
Corvette side vents beneath them. There are body side-molding
spears that emanate from the vents and run to the back of the
doors, adding to the sporty flair. Ahead of the rear wheels are
black-trimmed brake cooling ducts, and on both doors are body-color
side mirrors. Around back are iconic rounded tail lights, a
cross-flags emblem on the trunk lid, and dual chrome exhaust tips.
This sleek and sporty package sits perfectly atop Argent Grey
aluminum split 5-spoke wheels dressed with Toyo Proxes T1S tires.
Hiding behind all 4 wheels are body-color calipers and vented
rotors. Under the light-weight hood is a very tidy and almost stock
engine bay. The only non-factory items to see are a set of headers.
The engine is a 5.7-liter, 16 valve, push-rod V-8 with an aluminum
block and heads that features GM's engine control system with port
fuel injection. It is basically a tuned version of the standard LS1
engine - now designated the LS6. The previous owner stated that the
person he bought it from had the headers put on, gave the car a
higher performance tune, added Borla exhaust, and put a short-throw
shifter inside the cockpit. The power in 02 was increased from the
previous year's model due to a larger intake, stiffer valve
springs, lighter sodium-filled valves, and a more aggressive cam
and timing. Straight from the factory, this car would do 0-60mph in
4 seconds, and it would cover a mile in 12.4 seconds! This beast
of a small block is mated to an M12 6-speed manual transmission
unique to the Z06. Handling on the road is excellent thanks to the
uprated FE4 suspension and the "Active Handling" stability control
system. Open the driver's door to find an exceptionally nice red
and black interior. The driver's door houses controls for the power
windows, power locks, power mirrors, seat memory, and a Bose
speaker. The black and red leather bucket seats with Z06 stitching
on the headrests are in fantastic condition and show almost no
wear. The driver's seat is power-adjustable while the passenger's
seat is manual. The driver is treated to a leather-wrapped 4-spoke
steering wheel with an airbag and cross-flags logo at its center.
Also on the tilt column is a stalk to the left with headlight and
cruise controls and a stalk to the right for the intermittent
wipers. Straight ahead on the dash, you'll find a 200mph
speedometer, tachometer, and gauges for water temp, oil pressure,
battery, and fuel. This Corvette is also equipped with a heads-up
display that has a speedometer, tachometer, and fuel gauge. The
dash is also home to a factory AM/FM/CD stereo and a dual-zone
climate control system that pumps out cold A/C and hot heat on
demand. Between the seats is a center console with armrest,
lockable storage box with charging port and fuel door popper,
Active Handling button, passenger airbag "off" button, flip-top cup
holder, and the 6-speed short-throw shifter with black pattern ball
and leather boot. Ahead of the passenger is a grab-handle on the
dash (for when driving gets spirited), an airbag, and a locking
glovebox with courtesy light, airbag "on" button, and the original
owner's manual. Overhead is a tight cloth headliner, visors with
lighted vanity mirrors, and a rear-view mirror with dual map
lights. Floors are dressed in black carpet and kept nice with
carpeted floor mats. Behind the seats is a rear storage area that
features a stitched cross-flags logo on the black carpeted back
wall. You'll find even more storage in the carpeted trunk as well
as a GM tire inflator kit and a Budge car cover. In today's market,
it is difficult to find a used car with all of these features,
along with low mileage, in this price range - let alone a
track-ready sports car with drop-dead good looks. This Corvette
packs a ton of bang for the buck - stellar looks, horsepower and
torque to spare, and a stylish and comfortable cabin full of
creature comforts. This red beauty is sure to find a new home fast,
so if you want that to be in your garage, then give us a call
today!
