For Sale at Auction: 2006 Ferrari F430 in Monterey, California

Vehicle Description

Chassis No. ZFFEW59AX60147045

Developed alongside the closed F430 berlinetta, the F430 Spider debuted in 2005 embodying many of the same Formula One-derived technologies while adding an open-air element to the line. Its electrically operated folding soft top added just 154 pounds, costing only a tenth of a second in the zero-to-62 mph sprint (from 4.0 to 4.1 seconds) and reducing top speed by a mere three mph compared to the coupe (from 196 to 193 mph). Though it shared the berlinetta's razor-sharp performance focus, Ferrari positioned the Spider as a more relaxed grand-touring alternative.

This was evidenced by the model's press tour, when Ferrari guided journalists through Italy's cultural heartland-past the historic Dukes of Modena in Sassuolo, through the Piazzi Piloti in Parma, and to Villa Verdi in Sant'Agata di Busseto. Beyond the unobstructed vistas of Italy's historic landscapes, Road & Track's Paul Frere observed that "hearing the wail from the Spider's 483-bhp engine on full throttle was just as exhilarating as feeling the wind rushing by the cockpit," perfectly capturing the Spider's unique fusion of speed, sound, grand touring style.

This exceptional F430 Spider showcases one of the last available manual transmissions offered in a Ferrari (third only to the 612 Scaglietti and California), representing the final chapter of driving purity from the Prancing Horse. Originally delivered through Barrett Imports in San Antonio, Texas, this Spider was specified in the classic and elegant combination of Nero (Black) paint complemented by a matching Nero soft top and sumptuous Beige leather interior with Nero contrast piping. Desirable factory-fitted extras included Red brake calipers, Scuderia Ferrari shields, a USA-spec battery charger with pre-wiring, electrically-adjustable Daytona-style sport seats, a leather rear shelf/door molding, and a high-power Hi-Fi system with subwoofer.

According to its clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, this Spider was first registered in Texas in April 2006 before relocating to New York in mid-2007. Remaining in the Northeast, it was later registered in Connecticut (2013-15), with Ferrari-Maserati of Long Island in Plainview, New York, completing a service in April of 2015 during this period. The service included a thorough pre-purchase inspection, completion of Ferrari's Campaign number 49 involving cylinder heat shields kit replacement, and Campaign 423 addressing the ignition system. The dealership also provided a new key and handled vehicle transport to New Jersey, where its next owner took delivery showing just 6,001 miles. Following brief periods of registration in Montana and Ohio, the Spider joined the highly distinguished Ferrari collection of the current owner in 2020.

Today, this six-speed manual F430 Spider represents a collector-grade example of Ferrari's final mid-engine, manual-transmission road car, showing just 6,731 miles since new at the time of cataloging. Complete with its books, factory toolkit, tire inflator, and factory car cover, and additionally benefiting from a recent service conducted by official Ferrari dealership Prancing Horse of Nashville in July 2025, it stands ready to deliver pure, analog open-air motoring pleasure.
