Vehicle Description

One of the first things Luca Cordero di Montezemolo did after
taking the reins at Ferrari in 1991 was order sweeping changes
across the road car lineup. The F355 was unveiled in 1995 as the
replacement for the 348 and was the first proof that Ferrari was
back on track. Pininfarina refined the 348's silhouette into a
classically beautiful shape, complete with the elegant flying
buttresses that would make their final appearance on a Ferrari road
car.
Beneath the surface, the F355 was a leap forward. Its 3.5-liter V8,
now equipped with five valves per cylinder, titanium alloy
connecting rods, and Bosch's M5.2 engine management system,
produced a claimed 380 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque,
delivering over 100 horsepower per liter-a remarkable figure for
the time. A redesigned aerodynamic underbody paired with telescopic
electronic dampers provided meaningful gains in handling, making
the F355 more than five seconds faster around Ferrari's Fiorano
test track than its predecessor.
This F355 was delivered new in Salt Lake City, Utah, by Steve
Harris Imports on 11 January 1997. Not only was the car specified
in iconic Rosso Corsa, but more importantly, it came with a
six-speed manual transmission. Seeing limited use with its first
owner, the car went to its next caretaker in 1999, having covered
just 688 miles. Truly enjoying the wonderful Pininfarina-penned
lines, the car covered a mere three miles during eight years of
ownership, at which point it entered the esteemed California-based
Ming Collection. As part of this wonderful low-mile Ferrari
collection, it would share garage space with both an F40 and an
FXX, amongst many other Prancing Horses, and diligently kept in
outstanding condition. A service invoice from 2010 by Rudd
Restoration Consultants of Menlo Park, California shows the car
received a service to the convertible top mechanism, a change of
fluids, new brake hoses, and other service items at a cost of
$7,295. 699 miles were recorded at the time. With only a scant few
miles added to the odometer, it entered the current lifelong
Ferrari enthusiast's collection in 2019 with just 704 miles.
The car remains in spectacular condition today and in keeping with
the current owner's constant chase for the best of the brand, this
is likely one of the finest and lowest mileage F355 Spider
specimens in existence. Displaying just 762 miles at the time of
cataloging, this highly original Spider remains as close to a new
car experience as possible. In preparation for the sale, a service
was performed on this spectacular F355 at official Ferrari dealer
Prancing Horse of Nashville in July of 2025. With its gated
six-speed manual gearbox, timeless Pininfarina styling, and
sonorous five-valve V8 soundtrack, this F355 Spider ranks among the
most engaging modern Ferraris to drive and own.
