Vehicle Description
Cruisin Classics is excited to present to you this gorgeous 1965
Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu convertible. In the last four years, over
$30K was spent to take this already nice car to another level - and
it shows everywhere you look! Before the current work, this
beautiful Chevy was already treated to a coat of slick red paint,
new chrome, new carpet and interior, a new top, and a front disc
brake conversion. Some highlights of the recent upgrades include a
new 350ci V-8 Crate Engine with chrome dress-up kit, full exhaust
with headers, a new tilt column, a power steering conversion, and
rear air shocks - just to name a few. Let's take a deeper dive into
this great-looking '65 Malibu ...
Originally an Ermine White car with a White top and Medium Blue
interior, this Chevy now wears a lustrous coat of red paint in high
driver quality condition, contrasted by a crisp white top and
accompanied by a fresh red interior. Up front, you'll find a bright
horizontal grille with dual side-by-side round headlights and a
colorful Chevy badge at the center with a gleaming chrome bumper
beneath. Brightwork continues with window trim, wiper arms, wheel
lip molding, dual side mirrors, antenna, and door handles. Both
sides of the car wear "350 cross-flags" fender badges and "Malibu
Chevelle" rear quarter badges - all in excellent condition. The
manually operated white convertible top is free of any stains or
tears, and it features a clear plastic rear window in good
condition. A custom-made red vinyl boot cover comes with the car to
cover the top when it's in the down position, and it looks
fantastic. The side view is further enhanced by a set of 5-spoke
Ridler wheels all wrapped in white-letter BF Goodrich tires, a
perfect choice for this ride. Around back is brighter trim that
surrounds the taillights and lower decklid with "CHEVROLET"
lettering, another chrome bumper, a hidden gas fill behind the
license plate, and dual chrome elliptical exhaust tips.
Lift the big red hood to reveal a clean and organized engine bay
that you'd be proud to show off at any car show. Originally a 327ci
car, this Malibu now boasts a fresh orange GM Crate 350ci V-8 with
only 452 miles on it since it was installed in 2022. The engine is
topped off with a Kelley Contender intake manifold, an Edelbrock
AVS2 4-barrel carburetor, chrome valve covers emblazoned with
bowtie logos and "Chevrolet", and a chrome Chevrolet air cleaner
with 350 TurboFire 300hp decals. The excitement doesn't end there,
though. Other highlights include a chrome alternator, chrome timing
cover, an electric choke, a chrome radiator overflow cannister,
power steering, a new water pump, a new starter, and black front
show panels with an engraved bowtie logo and '65 Malibu. The V-8 is
mated up to a 2-speed Powerglide transmission that sends power to
the pavement via a 10-bolt rear axle. Exhaust flows through
Headmann headers, new mufflers, and new pipes to exit the rear with
a subtle rumble that's sure to put a smile on your face. Stopping
power comes courtesy of power front discs and rear drums with a new
master cylinder.
When you open the driver's door, courtesy lights come on to
illuminate a luxurious red interior with some custom touches added
to the original flair. The door panels look OEM correct with red
vinyl and bright trim. The seats are as comfortable as they are
attractive - dressed in flawless red vinyl, with buckets up front
and a bench in the rear. The front seats have chrome trim on the
outside edge that adds to the classy look. Between the front
buckets is a custom center console that's covered in red vinyl and
offers an armrest/storage box, 2 cupholders, 2 speakers, and a
Hurst pistol-grip quarter-stick shifter. Where the console rises to
meet the dash, there are a trio of under-dash mounted Autogage
gauges with chrome surround (water, volt, oil). Ahead of the driver
is an aftermarket 3-spoke wood-ringed steering wheel on a new tilt
column. Behind the wheel is a slick red painted dash with a bright
instrument and gauge bezel. Within the bezel are controls for the
lights and wipers, a 120mph speedometer, an analog clock (inop), a
fuel gauge, warning lights for gen/temp/oil, and an AM/FM
Retrosound-style radio to play your favorite cruisin' tunes. Below
the bezel are slider controls for the heat and fan. Ahead of the
passenger is an empty glovebox with bright trim on the door.
Underfoot is high-quality hook & loop carpet kept nice with red and
black, rubber & carpet, logo floor mats. Back in the trunk is a
vinyl mat, a car cover, the aforementioned red boot cover, the
original steering wheel (in good condition), and a folder full of
receipts for work done since 2021.
