1965 Ford Mustang GT-Mr. Cecil Yarborough of Jackson, Mississippi bought this Springtime Yellow Mustang GT either new or almost new and kept it for years. He had the engine rebuilt in 1977 with 80K miles on it. In around 1981, he passed it to his daughter, Linda, and her husband, Keith. According to service records, Linda & Keith moved to Alabama and took the GT with them. They kept the car until at least 2010. After being owned by another Alabama collector for an extended period of time, it made its way to a South Carolina Mustang collector in around 2023. Tom Mack Classics had the opportunity of buying and selling the GT in 2024. After a marital Mustang dispute, we were able to re-purchase it this year from the last collector and are now offering it for sale again.
This “A-Code” Mustang was nicely equipped including the GT package, Deluxe “Pony” interior, center console, “Pony” floor mats, and power steering. Previous collectors have added factory air conditioning, functioning Rally Pac gauges, Custom Mustang sound system, and the original automatic transmission has been professionally updated to a newer Mustang 5-Speed manual. Car is in great mechanical condition and ready for summer touring. The black Pony interior is very nice and the car rides on Radial redline tires mounted on ’65 Mustang Styled Steel Wheels. The solid southern body carries much older “patina” paint. Drive and enjoy as is or paint to have the ultimate Mustang GT.
