T his is an amazing and simply gorgeous condition Jaguar XJ-6 Vanden Plas saloon. Finished in Bordeaux metallic with beige leather interior that presents in incredibly nice condition and is borderline immaculate. The Vanden Plas was the top of the line with special seat lay-out, unique upholstery with rear head-restraints, extra leather on door armrests and various trim, higher quality Connolly hide through-out, burl walnut wood with teak in-lays on door pieces, extra interior lighting and "on-board computer". The Vanden Plas was the highest model specification in the USA. This is a 3 meticulous owner car with some 78,000 miles, sold new in California and residing there most of its life, she is a very dry example without a spec of rust anywhere. She has a perfect Carfax report. Everything works as it should and as pictures show, is in immaculate presentation. Recently serviced and all in working order to include new shock and steering bushings and brake service by experienced technicians. Mechanically the car is fantastic with no known issues. Just a quick look under the hood is testament to how well this Vanden Plas has been maintained. Every single feature and function works as it should; windows, door locks, sun-roof, antenna, stereo, A/C, heater, interior and exterior lights, horn (both high and low)... the complete list. Body and paint is excellent. Very shiny and consistent with hardly a minor chip here in there. There is no rust in the typical areas namely; the bottom of the front and rear windows, lower fenders, rockers and wheel arches. Unlike many Jaguars of the era, this one is free of the ugly side mouldings installed by dealers when new. The factory correct Jaguar rims are in excellent shape and mounted are Michelin tyres in their correct 215/70-15 size. The interior is quite a stunning aspect of the car with no noticeable wear. The carpets are excellent and the original broadcloth wool headliner is in good condition without any of the typical "droop" usually seen on this model. The leather great and the dash like a new one. The burl walnut wood is in nice condition but with some hairline cracking in the lacquer (the worst area being the glove box fascia). The console and door wood is almost perfect. Have a close look at the buttons and switch gear; they are all in excellent condition. Simply amazing. The rear parcel shelf shows no sign of fade. She is also a non-smoker car so clean and sweet.
