Vehicle Description
2023 Toyota GR Corolla Morizo Edition
"A fire breathing hot hatch with the untamed energy of a wild
beast, GR Corolla was the vision of Master Driver 'Morizo', track
alias of former Toyota president and CEO Akio Toyoda. Engineered
and hand built by highly skilled 'takumi' at the TOYOTA GAZOO
Racing factory in Motomachi, the Morizo Edition was designed as the
ultimate GR Corolla for the track.", (Toyota.com.au). But of
course, it's street legal and Car and Driver's test yielded a 4.4
second sprint to 60, propelled by 300 horsepower carried by
all-wheel drive.
For consignment, a 2023 Toyota GR Corolla Morizo edition with a
title verified 775 actual miles. From the collection of famed racer
car driver Scott Pruett, this car is located in California and
offered through an exclusive arrangement with Classic Auto Mall. It
is number 101 of 200 built and remains in like new condition. The
car will be shown to interested parties at its location in sunny
California by appointment only to qualified potential buyers.
PLEASE NOTE: This vehicle is located in Northern California
Exterior
Available in only two colors, Smoke Gray and this, Wind Chill
Pearl, and benefitting from the exterior cues of the "base" GR
including the epic triple exhaust tip configuration that's unlike
any other car. The gaping grille allows for plenty of airflow into
the engine while vents on the aluminum hood, fender vents, a subtle
wing and modest rear splitter handle its escape. Morizo exclusive
front brake ducts help set the car apart. Weight saving was an
integral part of the design and on the exterior, a forged carbon
fiber roof contributes to the overall saving of about 100 pounds.
Although there are four doors, there are only front seats as we'll
see, another measure to cut a few pounds. 18-inch forged aluminum
wheels carry wide 245/40ZR18's and bright red calipers shine
through the matte black spokes. As a car with less than 1,000
miles, we were not surprised to find the exterior flaw free.
Interior
Fit for a track king, the inside is adorned with leather and suede
throughout beginning on the smooth and handsome door panels which
are unobstructed by unnecessary switchgear. That's Brin Naub suede
on the black racing seats, framed in leather with red stitching to
match the red seat belts and red stitch boots found on the shifter
and parking brake. That shifter has a shortened stroke and is
positioned "where the driver's arm is naturally lowered from the
steering" according to Toyota. A simulated suede wrapped steering
wheel is both attractive and functional with a panel of thumb
controls on each horizontal spoke. Naturally, the GR logo is
present here and other places in the interior while a red centering
stripe tops the steering wheel. The bright digital instrument
cluster is wide, colorful and full of critical information,
changeable with the flick of your thumb. In the center, a screen is
prominently perched over the A/C panel and the sound system on this
race inspired car is on par with some of the top luxury models in
the world. The 8" screen displays wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless
Android Auto, SiriusXM, Service Connect, (up to 10-year trial),
Safety Connect capable, (up to 10-year trial), remote connect and
Drive Connect capabilities, AM/FM radio, clock, speed compensated
volume control, steering wheel controls, voice activation, radio
data system and external memory control, streaming audio, two
speakers, and Bluetooth connectivity. In back, stabilizer bars and
a package shelf replace the rear seats.
Drivetrain
Compact and lightweight is what Toyota was going for with the 1.3
liter DOHC inline 3 cylinder, boosted by a single scroll ball
bearing turbocharger that contributes to its 300 horsepower. Direct
port fuel injection is utilized and a 6-speed "intelligent" manual
transmission engineered with rev matching to accommodate high
torque levels, which are distributed to Torsen limited slip front
and rear differentials housing 3.58 gears. Naturally, power disc
brakes with ventilated and slotted rotors and four piston calipers
occupy each of the four wheels.
Undercarriage
Like the top side, the undercarriage shows minimal usage and is
mostly covered with aerodynamic panels. The single exhaust runs
through a three part muffler that subsequently sends three
tailpipes to brushed stainless tips, left, right, and center.
Suspension consists of Macpherson struts in front and a double
wishbone, multi-link system in the back.
