This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro isn't just a pretty face-it's a
purpose-built street weapon packed with serious hardware. Drenched
in red and topped with a cowl induction hood, this first-gen F-body
channels pure attitude, but it's what's underneath that makes it a
true predator on pavement.
At the heart of it all is a 450hp Smeding Performance 383ci stroker
V8, armed with Edelbrock aluminum heads, a Holley carb, Doug's
ceramic-coated headers, and an Edelbrock aluminum intake. Feeding
that punch through a Tremec TKO600 5-speed and into a beefy Quick
Performance 9-inch rear with 31-spline axles, this Camaro was built
to rip and roar with confidence.
Detroit Speed gear makes this thing handle like a scalpel-tubular
control arms, subframe connectors, Speed Kit 1 suspension, sway
bar, coil springs, lowering leafs, billet body mounts, and their
power steering system all work in sync to bring the muscle car feel
into the modern age. And with 4-wheel disc brakes, it stops as hard
as it goes.
Inside, it's a mix of race-inspired function and show-worthy style.
TMI highback bucket seats, a Covan dash filled with Autometer
gauges, a Hurst shifter, and RetroSound radio blend old-school
flavor with updated comfort. A BeCool aluminum radiator with
electric fan and an aftermarket serpentine setup keep it cool under
pressure.
With 17-inch Billet Specialties wheels and just the right stance,
this '68 is far from your average Camaro-it's a dialed-in street
machine with the looks to draw a crowd and the guts to back it up.
Rarely do builds this complete come to market.
