1990 Chevrolet 1500 Pickup Truck
VIN: 2GCEC14K1L1265680
As described by the seller:
My father purchased this truck new off the lot in 1990 and I swear he must have kept it under his bed at night. He drove it for 14 years and only put 43,000 miles on it. When he passed, in 2004, the truck became mine. I have driven it for 21 years and only put 47,000 miles on it. Current mileage is 90,200 and change.
1990 was one of the years that GM had trouble getting their paint to stick to the primer. In 2006 I had the entire truck stripped to bare metal and re-painted from scratch by Duck’s Painting. At the same time, Duck’s also applied the spray-in bed-liner and color-matched it to the white of the rest if the truck. It has spent its entire existence in the dry climate of Montana and there is zero rust. The interior is all original and in excellent condition.
I had all of the maintenance done by my nephew at Cel Automotive and have all of the maintenance records since 2004. In 2012 I had one of the leaf springs removed to give it a more level profile and softer ride but I also added air shocks so it can still haul a load. The exhaust system, wheel bearings and front-end suspension were also replaced in 2012. Custom wheels and tires were added in 2012 as well. A complete brake job was performed in 2021 and I would have no reservation about driving it from coast-to-coast. Studded mud and snow tires and hitch ball are also included. In 2016 the pickup received some hail damage. The hood was replaced and the cab was repaired but the clear coat is now peeling on both due to an inferior clear-coat product used by the repairman.
This is not some beater with a heater that you buy for your kid’s graduation. It has been lovingly driven and maintained and is a suitable addition to a collector’s garage.
