For Sale: 1937 Plymouth Rat Rod in STERLING, Illinois

Vehicle Description

This sick Rat Rod was built by John Shope and his crew at Sinister Industries in Phoenix, AZ and is just plain bad to the bone. It has a custom-built frame that was made using a Camaro sub-frame. It is bagged on all 4 corners with stainless lines and a holding tank that will let it pop-up off the ground as quick as it drops. It is powered by a 350ci V8 that was rebuilt with a mild cam and was fitted with a set of Jegs 205cc aluminum heads. It is fed by an Edelbrock Street Tunnel Ram intake and two Edelbrock 500cfm 4-barrel carbs. Exhaust is handled by a pair a custom-made upswept headers with manual cut-offs connected to a 3” dual exhaust that sounds as nasty as it looks. It has a 700R4 tranny with a shift kit, a B&M Megashifter and a 12-bolt rear end with a gear suitable for highway cruising. Stopping is enhanced with front disc brakes and it also has power steering. The custom interior features suicide doors and is quite spacious for even the biggest of drivers. It is fit with a custom-made headliner, matching door panels, a leather bench seat, it has its original dash and the glove box holds a Pioneer CD player connected to 3-way speakers in the corners of the rear package tray. The trunk is spacious with all of the air ride equipment nicely mounted and displayed out of the way at the front of it. The all-steel body was chopped 4 inches giving it the look it always longed for. It’s finished in grey with red patina accents on the paint job as well as sweet Sinister Industry logos on both doors. You can’t help but notice the custom black parts such as the upswept headers, the custom grill, the Moon double-scoop air breather, the spider web rear window treatment and the staggered Riddler rims. The overall stance is menacing, especially when you drop it to the ground. It does not have windows in the doors but it does come with Plexi-glass inserts. The only other concerns worth mentioning are that the horn does not work, there are no wipers and there are no high-beams. The current owner purchased it last fall and serviced it just this spring. Everything works as it should, it will cruise at 80 on the highway without any issues and it could be driven anywhere. The parts used to build this Rat Rod cost more than what we are asking for it and that did not account for the original cost of the car or the hundreds of hours it took to build it. We have priced it for a quick sale so if you like what you see you best contact us before someone else beats you to it!
