For Sale: 1987 Pontiac Firebird in Akron, Ohio

Vehicle Description

Hello there, thanks for looking at my listing!  For those of you that recognize this Firebird from last year, there's nothing wrong with the car, it's just that I'm an idiot and I did it all wrong last time.  I'm going to try to sell this thing one more time, I'll do the important details first and if you want to hear the idiot part I'll include it at the bottom :)

For Sale: 1987 Pontiac Firebird, 48,435 miles, 2.8L V6.  I've done my best to be as thorough and accurate as possible in the pictures and video, please reach out if you need more information or are unclear about something.  I'm also willing to save on shipping  by delivering once I've verified the funds, I'm confident the car can make the drive and the distance I'm willing to go depends on the amount the car sells for.  Summary below:

Mechanical - Starts good, runs good, stops and turns good, tires have good tread.  All the lights and accessories work, I replaced the radiator, changed the oil and put a new washer fluid pump in but everything else was already clean.  The only issues are the gas gauge flops around when you hit a bump and the headlight control module drains the battery if you leave it connected. I usually just leave them up with the module unplugged but I'll include the other modules I have if you want to fix them or replace them.  The rest of the assembly works and the lights are fine.

Exterior- No dents or big scratches, no rust on the body that I can tell, the bumper is a little faded, the right tail light is cracked and there are small scratches in places you'd expect (decals, mirrors, key holes). All in all it shouldn't need much work to be perfect.

Interior - The center console is moderately worn.  The seam on the driver's side seat was worn completely to the foam, I've sewn it up and covered it with something but it's not the best repair in the world.  Should prevent further damage until you decide what to do with it though.  The plastic on the seat belt receivers is in really bad shape, I covered them with some silicone covers but they'll eventually have to be replaced.  Other than that, the carpet and interior is in excellent condition.  And there's fuzzy dice, of course :)

Now for the "why John's an idiot" part.  I listed this last year at way too much money, it wasn't from greed it was just that I overpaid in the first place and there were so few other cars that I could compare it to.  I also have NO IDEA how I did this, but the VIN I listed originally was not the one from this car, it was from a car I was comparing it to to figure out the price.  I guess I had copied and pasted that VIN to get the Carfax for it and it was still in my clipboard.  Really stupid.  Anyway, the actual VIN is listed now and if you want to see a history you can pull it from an Ebay listing I did, number 358530395771.  The mileage is accurate, the only thing it ever hit was a mailbox in 2013 and it had one owner until 2005.

If you're close to Ohio you're welcome to come out and see it yourself.  The car is sold as is where is with no warranty, and hopefully the lower price helps absorb the risk from buying a car without driving it if you can't get here.  I don't really know, I've always driven my cars until I'm pushing them to the junkyard.  In short, I'm not an experienced classic car professional, but I'm not a desperate seller either.  Any car that runs is worth a couple grand these days and this one runs great and has low miles. If it doesn't have value as an '87 Firebird it still has value to me as a cool daily driver that I can use with no car payment for the next 4 or 5 summers.  Maybe by then I'll have some free time to make it fast, but I'd rather sell it to someone who wants to do that right now :)

If interested send an inquiry through here and I'll get back as quick as I can. Thanks!

-John
