For Sale: 1987 Pontiac Firebird, 47,904 miles, 2.8L V6. I've included a 6 and a half minute video going through the details, I'll do my best to sum up below:
Price has been reduced to $8,800 or best offer and I've fixed some things as well. I'll update the video and pictures soon but I figured I'd at least get the new price and the listing updated.
The car's not perfect but is pretty clean, only minor scratches and some imperfections in the decals. It starts great, runs great, steers great, stops great, I even took it to the 1/4 mile a few months ago. The time was crazy slow, partially because it's built that way but partially because I didn't want to break something right before I sold it :) I've had it for about a year and 1,000 miles, I bought it at an estate sale with the intent of making it a cruiser or putting a manual and the 305 in it. We accidentally bought a house 4 days later that turned out to be a complete gut job, we'll be working on the house till at least next spring and I just don't have the time to do what I wanted with the car.
Mechanical: I replaced the headlight control module, they both work and go up and down now. Fixed the cruise, have the washer fluid pump to put in tonight, and I replaced the radiator with the full aluminum one. That just leaves the AC (components work but doesn't blow cold) and the gas tank baffles, which I think 'll leave as is.
Cosmetic: Minor scratches around the key slots and body, decals all have some damage. There's a crack in the right tail light that's an easy fix if one of us can find the part. The inside is pretty good, there's some warping on the center console, the driver's seat is torn right at the seam where you get in and the plastic part of the seat belt buckles are all pretty much destroyed. I plan on doing what I can with the seat, maybe covering it with something and switching the backs so the bad part is on the inside. I'll be pulling the seat belts this week and doing what I can as well. I can't guarantee they'll be original 3rd Gen Carmine Red buckles, but I will guarantee they'll fit and work.
I'm keeping the original parts for you as well (except the radiator), some of them may be fixable if you're more experienced with this stuff than I am.
I think that's everything, hopefully the pictures and video do this justice. I will say again that I'm flexible as long as you're reasonable. I hope someone picks this up and enjoys it as much as I have, it's a really pretty car and really fun to drive!
If interested send an email through here and I'll get back as quick as I can. Thanks!
