The Belvedere was introduced by Plymouth in 1954 and were produced
up until 1970. The name was initially used in 1951 as a hardtop
body style for for the Cranbrook. It eventually replaced the
Cranbrook as the top trim line when it became its own model. It is
Italian for "beautiful sight" and was a full-size car until 1965
when it became an intermediate fitting more into the muscle car
scene. This 1966 is a very clean car that has less than 250 miles
on it since restored. It has belonged to the current owner for 3
years and he purchased it as a solid rust free car out of Arizona.
The body is very straight and painted in a nice gloss White. All of
the chrome and stainless has been replaced and has a beautiful
shine. The glass is all good throughout and is slightly tinted. The
steel Black wheels look perfect on a car like this especially when
you add the polished hubcaps and Red line tires.
The car launches down the road being powered by a 440 V8 Super
Commander motor that boasts 375 hp. It is all painted up nicely and
topped off with the dual snorkel air cleaner. It is mated to a 727
automatic transmission and a 8 3/4 rear end with 3:55 gears. Up
front the car has disc brakes and they are power assisted. The
suspension system on it has all been gone through with new bushings
throughout. The wiring is all new as well so electrical problems
should be no concern. It sounds great through all new dual X pipe
exhaust that exits out of the rear.
The interior has all been redone and the Black upholstery is in
great shape. It has a split front bench seat with lap belts and a
full rear bench that has lap belts as well. The dash has a very
stock appearance with all of its original style gauges, knobs,
switches, etc. The door panels are stock as well with chrome door
handles and chrome manual window cranks. The trunk offers plenty of
storage space and has the stock mat. Underneath the pan is all
solid and the trunk houses the original jack.
This is a very nice example of one of these Belvederes and it is a
fresh build. It runs great and just needs a new garage to call
home.
Add it to your collection for $42,000.00!
This car is located in Amelia, Virginia.
