Painted stripes over silver and a black canvas top give this 1969
Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Convertible Tribute the kind of confident
look you'd expect from a build done right. The hideaway headlights,
tucked beneath the split front grille, tie it all together up
front, while staggered wheels-18-inch fronts and 20-inch rears-fill
the arches with 225/40R18 and P275/30ZR20 tires, setting a planted,
unmistakable stance. Painted black stripes run the length of the
hood and decklid, cleanly balanced by the short antenna and tight
panel fitment.
The interior is fitted with black vinyl bucket seats featuring
classic houndstooth cloth inserts. A full-length console runs
between them, housing the shifter and blending into a factory-style
dash. Door panels and carpets are color-matched, and auxiliary
gauges are mounted up front for quick reference. Power steering is
equipped. Interior layout sticks with what works, keeping
everything in the right place and easy to read.
A 350 V8 feeds through a 3-speed automatic transmission. Fuel
delivery is handled by a 4-barrel carburetor, with long tube
headers and dual chambered mufflers routing exhaust out the back. A
10-bolt rear axle gets the power to the ground. Up front, the car
rides on a coil spring setup with sway bar, and rear suspension is
traditional leaf spring. Power front disc brakes handle the
stopping.
