Vehicle Description
This 1969 Dodge Charger SE is a remarkably preserved example of one
of the most iconic muscle cars of the era, presented in its
original factory colors and configuration with extensive factory
documentation, including the original build sheet and fender tag.
This Special Edition Charger, ordered with a host of desirable
factory options, still retains its original 383 2-barrel V8 engine
(code E61) and automatic transmission, delivering a smooth and
reliable driving experience, just as it did when it left the
assembly line.
Finished in its original F5 Medium Green Metallic, the car wears an
older base coat/clear coat repaint that still shows excellent with
only minor blemishes noted. The factory-correct green vinyl top
remains intact and complements the color-matched factory green
interior beautifully. While the interior is largely original, the
front door panels and armrests have been replaced, and the
headliner shows well with only one minor hole. From the woodgrain
dash with J64 instrument panel trim to the factory-installed
electric clock, dual horns, glovebox and trunk lighting, and
electric rear window defroster (G01), this Charger exemplifies the
attention to luxury and detail that made the SE trim so
desirable.
Optioned with the A47 Special Edition Package and the A89 200 Decor
Group, this Charger SE delivers a premium driving environment.
Bucket seats with a center console (C16), power windows (P31),
power steering (S77), and the original Music Master AM radio (R11)
are all intact, while an aftermarket dealer-installed FM receiver
adds modern functionality. The car also features the desirable A01
Light Package, which includes hood-mounted turn signals (L31), a
headlamp warning system (L72), and courtesy lighting such as the
map light (L05) and glovebox lamp (L11). A trunk dress-up kit (C97)
is still in place with the original trunk mat present-though the
trunk pan does show some rust, as noted and photographed.
Recent cosmetic and mechanical updates ensure the car is ready to
enjoy. New front and rear chrome bumpers, new exterior door
handles, and a set of freshly installed Magnum 500 wheels wrapped
in BF Goodrich tires give this Charger the aggressive,
period-correct look it deserves. A new fuel tank and sending unit,
along with new rubber brake lines, were also installed to improve
drivability and safety. The car is equipped with 11-inch heavy-duty
manual drum brakes (B31), and while the factory A/C system is
complete, it will require servicing to function properly.
Underneath, the floors remain solid, and though the engine
compartment has not been detailed, it houses the original
drivetrain and is a strong candidate for enhancement by the next
owner. The car drives excellent overall and remains an honest and
largely original survivor that has been cherished by the same owner
since 1978.
This 1969 Dodge Charger SE is a rare opportunity to acquire a
well-optioned and largely original Mopar with documented provenance
and tasteful preservation. From the factory tachometer (N85) to the
vinyl roof and Special Edition trim, it's a standout example of
Dodge's performance and luxury combined into one sleek fastback
design. Whether you're seeking a rock-solid collector piece or a
striking driver that turns heads, this Charger SE delivers on all
fronts.
