INTRODUCTION: The 59 Cadillac was made famous by its exaggerated
tailfins. Inspired by jet aircraft, they make a bold statement as
much today as it did in 1959! This is an excellent example from a
true car collector/enthusiast. We purchased a collection of
Cadillacs from a friend that believed in driving his cars. As a
matter of fact, I don't know of anything he enjoyed more.
EXTERIOR: It seems as long as a football field and looking down
both sides it is straight as an arrow. This is a very clean body
that fits very nicely. I don't see any damage. Repainted its
original code 10 Ebony black. It is polished smooth and glossy,
sure there are some minor flaws if you look for them but overall
it's like a mirror. Overall the chrome and trim is also shiny and
straight. The bullets in the grille and the tail panel are not
broken. The convertible top was upgraded with a rich black cloth
and has a custom matching boot. The hubcaps are shiny and they're
wrapped in big radial white wall tires.
INTERIOR: It has a very nice interior and there's always two things
I check first on a 59 Cadillac: number one is the dash pad because
they all warped and split. This one has been properly replaced, it
does not have a cheap plastic cap glued on it. The other thing is
the upholstery, is it genuine leather or much cheaper vinyl? This
one was reupholstered in genuine leather with correct pattern and
buttons. The leather is soft. The interior lights work and overall
nothing is abused. All the trim, door panels, instruments look to
be in very good shape. It has cold modern air conditioning system
neatly added. Other upgrades include seatbelts and embroidered
mats. Factory options include power windows, power seat, power
antenna and an autronic eye.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It's a very clean engine compartment. You can
tell it's been apart: all the metal surfaces are painted nicely and
the bolts are cadmium plated. It has a reproduction Delco battery
along with a disconnect switch. Upgraded air conditioning system
was neatly installed and the generator is upgraded to an
alternator. Factory features include power steering, power brakes,
an oil filter and windshield washers. The 390 motor runs smooth and
produces 325 hp. The 4 barrel carb was rebuilt. Valley, valve cover
and water intake gaskets were replaced. It's dressed up nicely in
Cadillac valve covers.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The complete liner kit has been replaced. It has
the full jack and spare assembly The weatherstrip is soft and it
includes a few shop manuals as well.
UNDERSIDE: Under this car looks very clean, solid and properly
maintained. Staring and suspension components all look fairly
fresh. The exhaust has mufflers and resonators for that quiet
Cadillac tone. Brakes are in good working order e-brake is hooked
up. Looking up at the motor and the Hydramatic transmission they
are clean. It is the original 1959 transmission for this car. It
has a cruising 2.94 gear in the rear end.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to work it. This is so we can sell you
the best cars within reason.
CONCLUSION: This car epitomizes the exuberance and excess of 1950s
America, a time of confidence and self-indulgence. I can't think
of. Any modern car costing less than a million dollars that would
draw more attention than this one! This is an excellent example, it
looks and functions amazingly well!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
