Details About Our 1957 Ford Fairlane For Sale:
Available at the St. Louis Car Museum is a 1957 Ford Fairlane
finished in authentic Inca Gold and Colonial White, featuring a new
two-tone white and black interior. This rare and exceptional Ford
Fairlane 500 Skyliner with a retractable hardtop marks the first
production year of this classic design and arguably represents the
peak of 1950s automotive styling. Its remarkable use of stainless
steel and chrome accents, along with its embodiment of the "Long
and Low" aesthetic, reflects the era's locomotive and aviation
influences. The 1957 Fairlane 500 is undoubtedly among the last
major examples of Art Deco-inspired automotive design created in
the United States.
Equipped with an upgraded and reliable 352ci V8-4bbl engine and
Fordomatic transmission (both 1959/60 date-cast components),
Master-Guide power steering, MagicAire heater, fender skirts, front
bumper over-riders, a working AM radio with manual antenna, a
single exterior mirror, new E78-14 Coker Classic wide whitewall
tires, full wheel covers, chrome oval exhaust tips, windshield
washers, a clock, and a cigarette lighter! This beautifully
restored car is among the nicest and rarest drivable examples

to only one other longtime collector ever since!
This impressive 1950s Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner has been well
cared for, primarily enjoyed on sunny days and at local car shows.
The power retractable hardtop functions perfectly and operates
smoothly. (See Youtube Video for complete Hardtop Operation) In
2013, this stunning classic Ford received new brakes and weather

bushings, repacking wheel bearings, and aligning the front end.

History About Ford's Fairlane 500 Skyliner Model:
Named after Henry Ford's famous estate, the "Fairlane" in Michigan,
the Ford Fairlane was introduced in 1955 as a top-tier full-size
car, available in six versions, each featuring the characteristic
stainless steel stripe along the side. Despite facing stiff
competition from the highly popular Chevrolet Bel Air, the Fairlane
performed quite well against Chevy and other GM models. With its
blend of timeless design, improved performance, expanded options,
and various trim levels, the Fairlane was well-positioned to
capture a significant share of the full-size car market in its
debut year. Today, Fairlanes of all styles and sizes are highly
collectible and form a quickly growing segment of the investment
car market.
